You rang?

Welcome back to GT Akelo Stone
If he's 285 , then they fed him well and he can play DT which we desperately need.

Thanks to adding Akelo Stone our portal rankings improved to #28 nationally and #4 in ACC.
I wouldn't mind another DT or DL as we prolly need 8 for the DL rotation group.

Just read this on ESPN

You could have read it here this morning.

Does he have any NIL apparel deals so we can support him?

Pro tip: Read ST first.

Pro tip: I’m not reading through long-chain catch-all threads to see if something has been posted already.

Starting with ST will often save you from having to pursue multiple sites for your sports information.

My feed jumps me to the first unread post in each thread. And threads with new posts are shown in bold text. So if I read the thread yesterday I don't have to start from the beginning. And in this case the thread where the original post was made was just started yesterday so it wasn't a long chain catch all thread.

It's clear that a large number of posters go to X, ESPN, whatever source first, see something interesting and post it on ST before they have caught up here. I'm saying that ST is an aggregation site so unless you are keeping up hourly chances are someone has already found the news you found important and posted it.

Good ESPN article on CPL. I'm glad he stayed but I hate this timeline. "THE TRANSFER PORTAL ... is extinguishing any remaining pretenses of amateurism in college football." We have a pro league, it's called the NFL and I rarely watch it. I don't see how CFB stops from becoming NFL lite.

Because, until the NFL corrects, players are going to make more playing CFB at the factory schools. It will get worse.Texas is set up to pay tens of millions per season. The only thing helping the NFL now is there are too many college football teams and there is a limit on how many years someone can play CFB, although you'd never know it with how covid eligiblity worked out.

If FBS shrinks to 40-50 teams and basically let's the players play as long as they want, the NFL is ded.

Why would the NFL care to correct that? The rookie pay scale is part of their CBA and it doesn't matter to them if a player delays taking the pay cut. Eventually, he runs out of eligibility and goes through the draft anyway. Spending another year in college gives the NFL another year of data on the players and reduces their developmental costs.

Because if college football just says "öööö it, play as many years as you like", the NFL becomes the USFL

Never
NFL had like 8 of the 10 top broadcasts on TV last year. NFL will be fine

College Football is the NFL with no attempt to balance competition through the draft, multi-year contracts or a salary cap. The requirement to be a student is an illusion that will eventually be eliminated. College sports are now less balanced than any of the professional leagues.
With Texas and Ohio State approaching forty million dollars per season in football compensation alone and most of the SEC and Big 10 schools following close behind there is no competitive balance. The SEC and the Big 10 have no reason to correct this so it is unlikely to change.
