The ESPN announcers said nothing of how that probably hurts a QB pretty badly. I predicted a Wilson drop off but he'll be better later in the season again.

Why? They've been saying all during camp that they are doing to do that in every game, no matter the situation, so that Glennon gets some reps. More than likely it's so he doesn't transfer, but it has nothing to do with Wilson and anyone who has paid any attention to State understands that. The problem they have IMO is that the coaches have been preaching to him about stayiing in the pocket and not running so much to a point that it's screwed up his game. Add in a questionable OL and poor play from the WRs and you get what you saw last night. The best QB had a freshman sub for him during a game that they were losing. Preplanned or not, that's not a good sign.

They also stated that Wilson, at 5'11" has a bright future in baseball and has a good chance of getting drafted pretty high next year. That combined with his "reputation" of being injury prone. It only makes sense to have a backup that is ready to step in. Glennon should be a good one too. I was confused on the situation though. I would have thought that you keep Wilson in when you are down and let him get more comfortable. This isn't the middle of the season....he played 2 series and it only hurts to let him sit it out for a while. Oh well... O'Brien gets a lot of money to make the calls. I do not.
He can, but he wasn't. That's why I think the State staff has him screwed up. He was looking for something to do with the ball instead of just running it like he did last year.Exactly. NCS needed to get the offense going, not waste a series of downs to get PT for a backup.
By the way, Wilson couldn't outrun Tech's slowest defender.

He had it last year so I'm assuming it's not gone. He seemed to be looking around instead of running to me.I heard that theory on SECSPN last night and you may be right.
But after watching the whole game, it sure seemed like he had zero burst when choosing to run. DT's were chasing him down.
