I thought the pre-game handshake today with Jacksonville State was interesting. No big deal between two teams where there is no history to speak of, no real grudges and the opponents are not evenly matched, but what about next week vs Clemson and other rivals?

I think it was only for the opening weekend of games.

I was worried to death about the poor little boy in the middle of the field during the handshake. Hopefully we'll not have a 7 or 8 year old kid out there if we shake hands vs. Clemson. Can you imagine what would've happened if that boy got caught in the middle of a brawl?

I think the handshake thing went well though.

I thought it was a meaningless empty gesture and probably 90% of the players did too if you could get them to be honest about it.

Who comes up with this feelgoodism crap anyway?

I thought what Ohio State and Navy did was cool, but only because Navy is a service academy, any other team and it would have been weird.

I agree, the handshakes are bull**** before and after the game.

I thought in concept it was nice. What's better sportsmanship was not running up the score. We shouldn't be playing FCS schools (No FBS team should), so to run up the score is pathetic and can come back to bite you if the coach ever gets a FBS program.
