behind us excpet for tonight, what are your opinions of the Jackets winning the ACC? Can we take the next step and win the conference title or do we win another 9 or 10 and head to a non BCS bowl?

My belief is the conference title is there for our taking, BUT we have to be much better than we were on Saturday. I have gotten to the point with our kicking game that I would be willing to give a full ride to a top ten kicker.

We won a lot of close game last year as we all know, but the kicking game could cost us dearly this year if we are not careful.

With a little less than 81 hours until toe meets leather...I say GO JACKETS!! BUST THEIR ASSES!!

As powerful as I think our offense is capable of being... I'm worried that we will mess up against at least 1 ACC opponent. On the other hand, after watching VT effectively hold back Bama's offense until the end of the 3rd quarter, I'm afraid that they still have a better chance at winning it than we do.

I won't put us on top until the Hokies come here and hand us a 5th ACC win... (we will be 5-0 in conference if we go undefeated through this game.)

They did do a nice job of holding Bama's offense in check, but I also wonder how good is Bama's offense.

I have a feeling CPJ will stretch the field quite a bit that afternoon against the Hokies.

I think the season has a long way to go.

If I ever look ahead, it will be with visions of beating ugag with winning the ACC coming in a very far distant second.

New QB, new line for bammer, not that impressed with vt defense for this game. I'm sure they are good as they fly around and stuff. Let's see if they can play disciplined.

I'm worried about climpsun first.

Alabama had 498 yards of total off. 268 rushing. VT had 155 total yards. I'd like to think our offense is better than Alabama's

Really? You must be joking. They will be top 5 in the country, we will be lucky to be top 20.

If you think Bama's offense will be in the top 5 in the country what other 50 teams will be there with them?

I expect Alabama to struggle offensively at points during the year. And, as much as I dislike the SEC, they will face several very good defenses this year. Their young QB and offensive line will have issues at times. Top 5? I doubt it.

On the other hand, I think Tech will be in the top 3 yards rushing and improve the passing game.

If we fumble 5 times, we won't beat many teams. If we don't fumble we won't lose.

Its pretty obvious that the winner of the coastal will likely win the entire conference unless F$U comes out tonite and puts on a clinic.. the atlantic is really rough looking, enough said... but VT ran with bama for the majority of the game albeit through, god help us, 'beamerball'... UNC had a rough offensive start but ended up doing well, their defense scares me almost as much as Va Techs.... Virginia is in the cellar without a flashlight.... Duke is well, Duke(gulp)............and piss on Miami.... I know this last bit will come as a shock to people but if we take care of VT we win the coastal and prob the conference

Did you perhaps misread "offense" as "defense"?

Bama is gonna have a good offense, but I'm pretty confident GT's will be at least as good.

hehehe... I read defense not offense...

Our offense would crush theirs.

I think we'll know a lot more after Thursday. Despite saying we weren't, we were probably overlooking Jax St. We didn't look crisp and we weren't playing together. Plus, there may have been some first game jitters.

I'm more worried now than I was before the game, but I still think we've got the team to go undefeated.

Couldn't have said it better myself. It seems since CPJ has been here the magic number for turnovers has been 3 or fewer and we win. Not researched based on my part, but going off memory. We take care of ball we win.

I did like the way Nesbit threw the ball as compared to last year. He overthrew one that I can remember and had either 2 or 3 drops. The big thing in my eye is that our receivers were wide open when getting the ball thrown to them. I wouldn't be surprised if JN throws for 200 or 250 in the next three weeks.

If we can eliminate the fumbles, it is ours. TO margin will determine that more than any other stat.
