This is on Rivals but oh well.

Deandre Mcdaniel had some things to say about the option

"you do your job and keep them from cutting you and stay in your gap, you can shut them down"

Mcdaniel hinted they may use the same LSU gameplan.

"LSU DL was holding its ground at the line instead of penetrating" "I think our DL is good enough to do the same"

When asked if GT could run for 400 yards against Clemson
"No offense, but I think were a lot better defense this year" " they didn't run for that last year" " I don't ever see 400 yards being put on us by rushing"

Next he said

"Coach Steele has the D well schooled on how to attack an offense that's going for you knees the whole game"

To close it up he had an epic quote
"its pretty simple, if everybody does their job the offense is not going anywhere"

Wow.

This young chap needs to go back and look at the LSU tape. We were gashing them until things started going south on us. LSU didn't slow us down, we slowed ourselves down with the turnovers.

If I'm Dabo, I think I would shut this young fella up.

If everybody on D does their job NO OFFENSE will go anywhere. There are shutouts in every offense every year. MOF2, LSU shut off the middle, and penetrated well on our many passing plays, that's all. JD ran for 67 yards on 10 carries, and we ran for 4.1 ypc as a team. I'll take 6.7/4.1 ypc any day against a top tier team, as I'm sure you would, too.

Thursday night is put up or shut up time. Climpson gets to prove if they are top tier or not.

I hope CPJ posts these up for all the players to see.

If this is the case, Josh should have all day to pass like he did against JSU.

who cares, nothing he said is far from the truth, and nothing is really bulletin board material. what did you expect him to say?

if they keep us from cutting them and stay in their gaps they have a good chance of winning.

Bet ya that's easier said then done.

Anyone see Steele's résumé? I was actually impressed with the names of the head coaches that he served under. I kind of wonder what is preventing him from being named head coach somewhere instead of DC.

We care. This is what we do on message boards about football when there's no football on - we talk about the stuff that happens between games.

I hope our players don't need these quotes to know that Clemson thinks they can beat us and will try to beat us(basically all this guy said.) If our players don't know this, then we might be in for another performance like Saturday.

Something makes me think that Paul Johnson won't be letting that happen this Thursday though. It's just a good thing we played a really crappy D1AA team first instead of someone like Memphis.

Apparently you care. You did click on the thread and post.

??

JSU is a ranked FCS team.

I meant really crappy compared to teams in 1A, not relevant to other 1AA teams. I think if we came out like we did Saturday against a team like Memphis(who we should be able to beat handily), we would have been in a dog fight. As others have said, if we come out like that against Clemson, we won't be in a dogfight, we'll be losing. And if we need benign quotes like what this Clemson guy said to pump us up, that wouldn't bode well for the rest of the season.

I know I've said this b/f, but they have a history of purple uniforms. HAHA

Two of my worst football memories are of Clemson beating us to within an inch of our lives while wearing those purple uniforms. 2003 in the Purple Shirt Massacre and 2006 when they embarrassed us on national television in a prime time game while unveiling their all-purple uniform.

I'm willing to bet money that they come out in purple shirts Thursday.
