Before the season started, I picked Miami to beat us. I thought that we would be riding high after a 2-0 start and get bit. However, I honestly think that they are going to play us at a bad time...a bad time for them.

Tech has yet to play 4 quarters. It is not from lack of ability or lack of depth. It is simply from a lack of killer instinct. Coach Johnson commented on this last week after the JSU game.

I thought that the Clemson game would be close...I predicted a 24-20 win. I don't think many actually thought that we would blow them out...but we had that chance.

It is hard to learn anything from a game like JSU. And again, we came out with some fire and intensity and completely handled Clemson...especially in the trenches…and on both sides of the ball. And again, we got a huge lead, only to squander it away.

I don't think that happens against Miami next Thursday. It may be hard to take anything away from a game like JSU, but it is not hard to learn a lesson from a team like Clemson.

I think that Tech will put on a show for 4 quarters and completely destroy the Canes in every facet of the game.

I am going to go ahead and predict at least a three touchdown win for the Jackets next week.

I feel the same way. It was obvious that Tech came out with more intensity this week. It is clear that CPJ had coached them up on this based on his post game comments after the JSU game. I'm guess this week he will be focused on maintaining that intensity for the entire game...not just the 1st quarter or first half.

I agree with this idea. But I don't know if we win by 3 TDs. I say we win, but maybe not by 3 TDs.

Guys, I think last night could have been the worst game we may see out of the Jackets. I mean we almost blew that game up do Miami proportions of last year when the offense was really humming. I NEVER expected us to go up 24 to nothing in that game at any point. It shows what we can do, and what we are capable of. Now the Jackets just need to hold on to that lead. Clemson had some very, very good athletes and I think because of that they stayed in the game.

Just like Paul Johnson said in the post conference, we will get better from the mistakes we made last night. He guarantee's Josh will as Josh is a smart guy.

Also, If Paul Johnson was proud of the resolve of the team last night, so am I. He must feel confident somewhere.

Three points:

(1) I do not believe we will be as bad as 3 for 14 on third downs again this year.

(2) Remember the game we played prior to the Miami game last year? It was the UNC game. Nobody thought we would beat Miami, and certainly not by the margin we did.

(3) Every year the team that wins the ACC has one or more ugly wins like this one. All good teams have to win ugly sometimes.

We played the best defense in the ACC last night hands down. Miami does not have the dline clemson has. Not even close.

Here's my amateur analysis...

Against Jacksonville St. we looked weak up the middle. Against Clemson we compensated for that by rushing the DE's inside a huge chunk of time (especially run heavy downs) to cut the threat of a run. When we did this, we successfully took away the ability to run down the throat, but on play action passes Parker was able to roll out with ease. Against Miami we can't afford that with Jacory Harris. He's too athletic and would be able to run it for some serious yardage. I think we'll be ready to play Thursday and of course I expect us to win - as I always do.

So far, that's true...but it's really early in the season and we haven't even seen all of our opponents play yet.

At this point saying the CU is the best ACC defense(especially DL) is just blowing up our opponent to make an ugly win look better...but Lord I hope it's true.
