Nesbitt screwed up another thing that was embarassing

I'm going to school for free because I have good grades.

He is going to school for free to play good football.

I don't have to make passes to a WR.

So your good grades gives you permission to talk about failings in his area of expertise?

Maybe he should come in and review some of your papers and go out to a blog and talk about how embarrassing some of your answers are.

I understand you are trying to deflect, but the point is, there are VERY few people that could do what Nesbitt does, so to have the 'nerve' to celebrate after a hard fought victory to me, seems like a very appropriate thing to do.

He probably has good enough grades to go to school for free in GA too.

All I'm saying is this:

Act like you've been there before. If you are going to be a winning team, don't be surprised when you do.

GT is not yet sure if they're a winning team or not.

The 'act like you've been there' cliche drives me nuts. That was the first time Nesbitt or anyone on our team has ever been in that exact situation.

I agree to an extent that we shouldn't come tearing down the goalposts in that kind of situation, but for a simple expression of joy that you managed to pull one out that was slipping doesn't seem like he was acting 'like he'd never been there'.

And winners celebrate. There is no requirement that winners be non-emotional about wins. What does that say to the fans, "Yea we know we'd win, we don't really care that we did."?

Yea, I'm pretty sure I remember Josh having above a 3.0 in high school, which means he too could go to Georgia State for free if he didn't get into Tech.

gsu loses the thread.

Paint,
Are you kin to GT Kyle?

Evidently you never participated in a sport and not played your best, but somehow toughed it out to come out with a win. The feelings you have are relief the game is over, elated that the win is a reality, and pride in yourself and teammates for hanging in there and gutting it out. All reasons for celebration.

I hope it's the last time they're in that situation (fighting for their lives after being up by 24 points)

I go to Georgia Southern, but you knew that.

Actually, I didn't. GSU = Georgia State (www.gsu.edu). However, given that, let me edit my earlier comment:

"Yea, I'm pretty sure I remember Josh having above a 3.0 in high school, which means he too could go to Georgia Southern for free if he didn't get into Tech, UGA or GA St.

gsu loses the thread."

You and me both, but it doesn't change the fact that in that situation Nesbitt deserved some leniency in his celebratory actions due to having led his team out of complete disaster.

He did act like a winner.

No kidding. We won a heated rivalry game on national television with a last minute FG drive. The people in the stands were going nuts, why wouldn't Nesbitt celebrate? You have to celebrate your wins, especially your big ones, and there's no doubt this was a big win. He'll have plenty of time today and the rest of the week to look back on his play and hopefully make adjustments.

Are you forgetting that he led them into it?

For a bunch of guys with hate for this thread, you sure are replying to it a lot. If you want it to be over with, just don't reply.

Not like I'm going to bump it up or anything.

How did he lead them into it? Did he allow the Coop to get beat on a play action pass? Did he allow Burnett to miss the play on Jacoby Ford deep over the middle?

He made some bad passes this is true, but as I said before, he wasn't getting a lot of time to wait, and he was tired (not able to plant properly most the night). I'm not sure how you can say he lead them into the mess they were in. Was he responsible for Dwyer not being able to get big gainers up the middle? Was he responsible for the outside run game to be completely closed up?

All you've proved is that he didn't have the best night passing...I DEFINITELY would not classify that as him 'leading' them into the mess.

A win is a win is a win. Always has been, always will be.

OSU has a national title due to a bogus pass interference call, but the trophy is still theirs.

Colorado, I seem to recall, shared a title thanks to a 5th down and a phantom clip, yet I still see them listed as Co-national champs everywhere I look.

I'm sorry you don't like it, but we won the game and the record book will forever show that we won. Any victory over the tiggers is worth a freakin' arm raise by my qb.

And though your angst doesn't matter two cents to me, I know PJ is more troubled by the things we did poorly than any of us is, and he will do whatever it takes to improve.

I heard PJ on 790 this morning. He didn't sound terribly troubled to me. He knows we are a young team, we have improved from where we were last year, and we are still improving. We played an athletic defense last night and still ground out 400+ yards and escaped with a victory. PJ applauded Nesbitt for playing a tough game and leading GT to victory. He even said he put Nesbitt in bad situations with some of his playcalling. I put more stock in PJ's opinion than Mr. GA Southern.

He threw his hands up like he was proud of himself after taking a knee.

Embarrassing.

Yeah, GSU. And we the fans should have booed GT off the field last night after the game. And we shouldn't have put up with that crappy first half vs. uga last year. The fact that we only beat uga by 3 means we suck, and we should've let the players know. Why were they putting hedges in their mouth?

This is one of the dumbest things you've ever posted.

Wondered how long it would take someone to bring this up. I was thinking this all night last night.

Did I say that?

You're being a little hyperbolic at this point.

Maybe Nesbitt was having a bad night, struggling with accuracy
& reads, and still managed to lead us to a victory over our in conference rival. You can enjoy victory without being satisfied with your performance.
