Do you believe that ESPN would purposely bad mouth the ACC with hopes of buying low when the TV contract comes up in 2011?? I've read many complaints on here about ESPN this season, I even saw one guy call us the 6th best conference!!! What do you guys think?

When the ACC's own writer ranks the ACC lower than the Big 10, you know ESPN hates us.

**** 'em.

I heard this on ESPN radio this morning. They were ranking the conferences: SEC, Big 12, Pac-10, MWC, Big Ten, ACC, Big East. I think they are just trying to hype up the contract they currently have, SEC.

Is there really a debate on if the SEC is the best conference? Do you think the ACC is better than the SEC?

A very interesting point, and who knows? However, keep in mind Duke lost to Richmond and Virginia lost to William and Mary. The ACC is better than the Big East, Big 10 and Pac 10 though.

I'm with you BuzzLaw, all of my arguments for the ACC went out the window last weekend.. However, since then we have had 2 amazing games on National TV, and today so far we are 5-0. It's amazing how the perception of the conference has been determined the last 2 years by the first weekend.

It's because no one watched the games today, and EVERYONE watched NCSU-SC and EVERYONE watched Bama-VT(plus it's easy to cite 1AA losses and laugh at them.) Now everyone is watching the bigger games. Basically we just haven't shown up in the clutch, although us and FSU-Miami definitely helped.

No, I referring to ESPN encouraging people to watch their product, SEC, by making negative comments towards their competition, every other conference.

The SEC is the best conference but the problem is that ESPN seems hell bent on making it seem like if your not in the SEC you can't even compete. Like there is 3 levels in D1A. SEC, rest of BCS, non-BCS. If you didn't know College Football and listened to some of these broadcasts, you'd think the worst SEC is better than the best team in every other conference except maybe the Big 12. It's weird that what Duke and UVA do affects the reputation of the ACC yet Washington and WSU doesn't seem to hurt the Pac 10 and Indiana doesn't seem to hurt the Big 10 and Miss St and Vandy doesn't hurt the SEC, and Iowa St and Kansas St in the Big 12. We HAVE to get a team in the Top 10. That's what it all comes down to, like or not. Hopefully it'll be us. FSU and Miami being Top 20 would help to.

It'll be interesting what happens when the ACC contract is up for grabs. I don't think ESPN will make a play for it. I think they'll wait 'til the Big 12 or Pac 10 is up for grabs and get 1 or both of them. I could be wrong though. Seems like the only way they would go after the ACC contract is if their strategy is to grab all the conference contracts and I doubt that's the case.

Florida is keeping the SEC good so far this season. The SEC is not nearly as good as ESPN is hyping.
