Last time we went 3-0 was 2005. I was looking on ESPN's past schedules which only go back to 2002. In the span of 2002-2008 we have only started 3-0 once and that was in 2005.

Food for thought.

Before that, the last time was 2001. I still say that if a bunch of ****wad religious fanatics hadn't decided to murder a few thousand people, we'd have beaten Florida State on the 15th and 2001 would have been a completely different year.

Agreed.

Recall FSU lost their next game, to UNC, and finally had their team figured out by the end of the year when they played us in the makeup game.

Also recall the coach leading the charge with the NCAA to get that week of games canceled was none other than Bobby Bowden. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Bowden used 9-11 as an excuse to get his team out of a bad position.

GT 3-0 starts since Bobby Dodd retired:

1967, 1970 -Bud Carson
1984 -Bill Curry
1990 -Bobby Ross
2001 -George O'Leary
2005 -Chan Gailey

I'll always remember the score from that game, 41-9. Carolina was not a great team that year and all I could think was "That should have been us."

One Game at a Time... I don't care how ugly it is, I just want to win tomorrow!!!

That is a bit extreme isn't it? As much as I am not a BB fan, saying he used 9/11 to get out of playing us is about as far fetched as the conspiracy theory of 9/11. I hope you were kidding.

I thought I remembered Bowden saying that he wanted to play the games. I distinctly remember him being interviewed on a golf cart.

That's embarrassing. PJ will have that many in 10 years hopefully.

My thoughts exactly. I thought we would be much better than that. I hope we will be looking at the 4-0 years next week.

To make you feel a little better, here's Dodd's 3-0 starts:

1947, 1948, 1951, 1952, 1955, 1956, 1959, 1964 and 1966

Dodd only lost three season openers:

1946 -Tennessee
1950 -SMU
1958 -Kentucky

Dodd only had one season where he had a losing record after the first three games:

1950

L -SMU
L -South Carolina
W -Florida

1945 (4-6) & 1950 (5-6) were the only seasons where GT had a losing record under Dodd.

Don't even get me started.

Just a 3-0 start this season? We're going undefeated, boys.
