On an ESPN Insider article, Five storylines for Week 3 by Bruce Feldman:

3. Coping with the Ramblin' Wreck

Few sights were as awesome as the way Georgia Tech's triple-option attack pulverized Miami last season during a Thursday night spotlight game. Tech rolled up 472 rushing yards, the second-highest total that Miami had allowed in school history.

Both teams come into Thursday's spotlight game with ACC title hopes and maybe even bigger dreams. Tech has beaten Miami four times in a row. Ending that streak presents a major hurdle for a program coming off the rousing Labor Day performance against FSU by QB Jacory Harris and the rebuilt Canes offense. Plus, FSU struggled against Jacksonville State last week, and now some think Miami's victory wasn't quite as impressive as it had seemed at first. If the Hurricanes beat the No. 14-ranked team in the country, that would go a long way toward helping their national reputation.

For Tech, a win could be another step toward emerging as a legit top-five-caliber team. A win might even catapult RB Jon Dwyer into the Heisman candidacy mix.

Miami will return promising safety Vaughn Telemaque, a projected starter who missed the season opener with a shoulder injury. It'll be interesting to see how much he plays, considering he has yet to see real college action. Do you really want to throw a guy against the triple option to start him off?

You know we should be embarrassed about that game last year. We should have finished the drill and gone for first place.

Here's hoping Dwyer, AA, Roddy, Nesbitt and the others can obtain the top spot this year.

It's amazing that to gain respect, we have to beat a team that is just 20-21 since we kicked their 3rd-ranked ass in their own rickety stadium back in Nov. 2005.

Ah yeah.

I absolutely love how we're the reason Miami entered their final tailspin into oblivion.

...and UGA too?

that remains to be seen, but it'd be amazing if we were... nay, if Coach Paul Johnson were the reason...

if he keeps winning, i bet the Dawgs fire Richt and begin the scramble to find a "good" coach... meanwhile we tie/break the record for longest streak...:woot:

What I find more fascinating and promising is the level of respect Feldman is willing to give us if we win this game. Top 5? Dwyer as a legit Heisman contender?

I'm convinced that when it comes to polls and awards, ESPN is the major influence over the sports public. Hopefully, Feldman isn't simply setting up Miami for success.

We are also the reason for Auburn's tailspin into oblivion.

No, that would be:

I love this part.. Only time will tell, but I like to think about it...

If we win these next two ACC games, There should be no reason not to go to Tampa in December.

Excactly. Well, we have to beat VT too. I think if we beat Miami and VT, we are good to go. The end of our schedule is much much simpler on paper than the first few games.
