Anyone know how it is down there in Miami? It looks like it's been non-stop rain the past couple of days. What do you guys think - is it enough rain that it will affect the game? Do you think that it is a advantage or disadvantage for us?

I agree. We played well in Athens on a drizzly day, so our important guys are used to it

I would think it wouldn't hamper our running game too much, and immediately I picture Dwyer's TD right after the UGA fumble where the defender fell over backwards when Dwyer cut. That still doesn't calm my nerves about tonight's game though.:ugh:

As a GSU fan, I always felt the Rain hurt GSU worse than it hurt the D we faced. Pure opinion, no facts or logic, I just felt we had less luck in the Rain. GT seems to blow up in the rain and destroy people thus far haha.

It is nice down here right now. Just a little warm but not as bad as usual. It has been raining twice a day around here, once in the morning and once in the evening. Yesterday the rain held off till the early AM. I wouldnt think the field would be in any worse condition than it usually is. It always rains alot down here this time of year.

Providing we don't turn the ball over (not an easy assumption, sure), the rain has to hurt Miami's defense. Just imagine trying to defend the triple option on a wet surface. Making cuts and changing direction all of a sudden. Yikes.

I'm starting to hope more and more the field is wet.

It rains everyday in September in SoFla, but usually not for more than an hour or two in the mid to late afternoon. That stadium has great drainage so the grass will be fine. But I am worried about the baseball clay. No easy way to dry that up quickly. It may be a problem.

The field was in good shape yesterday. It just matters if this rain holds off or not today, from the looks of it there's no way it doesn't rain at some point. The baseball dirt is the part I'm most worried about.

Will they not put the tarp out?

The potential "rain" in Miami is monsoon-like; nothing comparable to Athens. If it rains this time of year, it will be torrential but short lived. I don't know how the field handles it. Tampa Stadium has an excellent drainage capacity beneath the playing surface and even heavy prolonged rain can be dealt with successfully. Don't know about Miami.

But it rains on both teams. Passing is no easy thing in a downpour. But it is a moot point. I have canceled the rain.

On the weather.com site there has been no reported rainfall for at least the last three days wherever rainfall is measured in the area. The radar, as of 1400hrs, does not show any significant rainfall. The forecast is only for a 30% chance.
