This board amazes me

Dems - you can't read posts from people who only show up after a loss just to vent and label the whole board sad. That's not fair to the many posters here who actually try to represent our program with dignity.

Its impossible to filter out the cowardly cheap shots after tough losses. Those of us who have been around for a while accept that there's no way to stop it and have just learned to ignore them.

Can we get some type of filter for this? Whether I agree with it or not, I like reading posts with good content, but the amount of pre pubescent sky falling panic tonight is 'amazing' to me as well.

I didn't say everyone. The people doing it know who they are, there's a lot of good people on this board and then there's the tools who come out when we lose.

For the record, reasonably constructive criticism is not negative. I think its important that we are allowed to be honest in our assesment of players, coaches.

That's one of the reasons I choose to post here and not elsewhere.

Negative is when someone lashes out at the team, players or coaches for no other reason than to vent their frustration. No one is happy we lost. But if you can't come up with either a suggestion or observation about why we lost or find something positive in the loss that we can build on then perhaps its best if you (not addressing anyone specifically) refrain from posting until you have cooled off.

I still love the Jackets as does most everyone here i assume, i think we are all venting and yes I think CPJ is aware of alot/all of the points anyone has made...

LETS kick the crap out of UNC and start feeling good again\

as far as criticism after a loss, i think depending on the type of loss it is warranted to a degree. I mean we lost, we were critical of ourselves. I think thats part of playing major college sports, you get fame/glory or you get criticisim. THats why its always better to win...

DEM- respectfully, i disagree on Schiano, your either in shape or your not.

Since Eric has been here he has done some good things with strength and conditioning. He works them hard, but I do agree that we looked extremely out of it tonight, we looked worn out earlier then we should have.

Its entirely possible if not likely that the problem isn't a lack of conditioning but overconditioning. Part of conditioning is recovery. You cannot sacrifice recovery to get in better shape - if you do, you will regress. I suspect that is what is happening with our team as opposed to our conditioning program not being intensive enough.

You're never as good as you think you are after a win nor as bad as you think after a loss. Both UNC and UM-VT will tell us a lot about GT and PJ.

For me, it all starts and ends with the OL. Of course the defense could have played better, but I would not have been surprised by a 45-33 game in the least. We knew the DL and the pass rush would be serious issues, but I did not think we would have so much trouble getting rushing yards. I see the opportunities open up when we block. You know, the interior linemen actually push the DT's like they've done since high school and Dwyer magically gets 5+ yards. They block and Josh magically finds the open receiver for an easy game.

To be honest, I really, really hope it is conditioning is behind our issues in the trenches and playing 3 games in 12 days is the reason for this loss. Again, UNC will tell everything.

I will say a couple things I wish we did more:

-Mix up JD some and get him touches other then up the gut

-Use our Abacks in the passing game, nice steady 5 yard passes getting them in the open field to do something.

Those are some things I think could help the offense, but I'm confident PJ already knows that.

For D, we need to get some kind of pass rush or this will continue to happen, you can only cover a receiver for so long before they just break away.

Everyone was upset after the game so I think they will come out hungry after this one, or they better.

I was a little disappointed in one player tonight but I have to see what really occurred and if there was a reasoning for it.

Yo, I want to give a shout out to our secondary, I think they've been pretty solid considering the pressure put on them. I think the numbers don't truly state the quality of our secondary.

Hall might be done, his spirits were not very high.

Sylvester ended up with a concussion.
