Look, the Miami game is over. I trust Paul Johnson to make the right adjustments no matter how small or large. DRad and company aren't pushovers. I strongly believe that Paul Johnson will only make us better.

Keep pressing forward on what is ahead... Miami got their revenge...

...now I want ours on UNC.

Tar and feather the tar heels! Then cut their head off.

Push on, don't look back. Let's get better and let's get vicious.

Tell me I'm wrong, which might be true, but I've spent years around the x's and o's of football. Tonight I questioned the playcalling a bit. No not just the ****ty plays. Even when it worked. But I love CPJ and I expect us to come out sharp next Saturday.

Listen, I think PJ is the man. I wanted him as coach of GT as early as 2005 and said so often on this board. But damn. Who kidnapped our coach and replaced him with this clone the last two games? He's been completely out of his element and our team hasn't played 4 quarters of football since UGA.

Are you kidding...? Paul Johnson out of his element - jeez.

Paul Johnson made the necessary changes to win the Clemson game in the 4th quarter.

Every team and every play in football is about execution - everyone know this. Execution is extremely important for the option offense and the last two games have been a complete lack of executing the block. Look at our successful drives last year and the two big ones this year and you will see defenders on their asses.

Let us not forget that our team was coached by Gailey. Paul Johnson is never out of his element - he lacks 'his' players to execute his offense efficiently. Nesbitt great athlete, but I wouldn't be suprised if he was challenged for starting spot next spring. Until then I trust in CPJ.

+1

I would take CPJ over Gailey anyday. I guarantee you the locker room is more hell under Johnson than "win some lose some" Gailey.

Finally we get some rest. This will help with our exhaustion issue. Getting an asswhoopin in Miami will help with our attitude and the memory of the UNC game last year will supply the motivation.

I've had the UNC game circled for some time now.

We haven't played 4 quarters since Miami 2008. In the UGA game, we only played part of the first half and all of the second half. We are in dire need of a game where are players are focused and executing from start to finish.

I will take our turnover ridden squad from last year who was able to execute any day over this year's squad that can't execute but doesn't turn the ball over as much.

wha?

Asked about his players’ seeming lack of energy, Johnson responded: “With this team, honestly, I can never tell. I thought we were ready to play, but clearly we weren’t. I hope we can play harder than that.”

WTF. You should start a thread about this quote. Damn. "With this team you can never tell"?? Wow. Classy.

Whoa Cajun, don't you think he's saying that to motivate them? I don't really view that as throwing the players in the garbage. He's still trying to correct their attitude. I guarantee you that PJ will say in his upcoming call-in show that he and the coaches need to do a better job.

that game last night reminded me alot of the UNC game last year. I hate losing, especially like this, but i would rather lose early in the season that later in the season. We can still have a good season.

I trust CPJ, too. I trust he is a talented coach that will adapt to his present troubles.

But...So everytime we lose this season you're going to say it's because CPJ doesn't have "his" players to execute? So basically CPJ can do no wrong in your opinion? While I agree with you he doesn't have his own recruits playing his system, he showed us last year how much he could do offensively with the same players he has this year. I see few offensive excuses... However, teams have figured out they have to make us pass, and we obviously don't do that well. Hopefully one of CPJ's QB recruits will throw very accurately and CPJ's WR recruits will get open and catch better.

I'll agree with you with our defense, though. For that reason I'm glad CPJ has some extremely solid defensive recruits, 4 stars even, coming next year.

I want to trust CPJ, too. But the most troublesome aspect to me on a night filled with troublesome aspects was Coach Johnson screaming at Phil Smith. I have been the one comparing him favorably to Dodd. That won't happen again. Who's job is it to ensure that these "kids" don't make stupid mistakes? Who gets damn near $2 million a year to get the boys ready to play? There is a growing body of on the field evidence that suggests we are not who we thought we were.

Smith made a stupid mistake at a critical point in the game for the offense. He got called out for it. That's life.

Where were you last year when he was yelling at guys who screwed up? He does it in wins and he does it in losses. Complain about something that means something.

That play by Smith was huge, I have no problem with CPJ getting onto him the way he did. I recall being yelled at plenty of times in high school.

It was unfortunate that PJ's comment was caught on tv. I believe in discipline and we obviously need some to execute better. However, if he's gonna yell that at a kid, he better be ready to take the fire too. PJ needs a long look in the mirror before he passes blame to everybody else. If our guys aren't executing, its his fault.

--- and I don't expect him to pass the blame to his players. I think he'll own up and say the loss was his fault.

All this talk about revenge and all that **** is pissing me off. Play football do what you brought here or there to do. I don't wanna here us start talking about revenge.
