noon ACC games thread (Clem/BC, UNC/ECU, Duke/Kan)

Gamecast says Clemson/BC delayed. Any word on what's going on there. Must be bad weather or a internet glitch.
 
Tornado warning I think is what I heard.

Edit: I was wrong. Lightning and not tornados. Lightning is what cleared the stadium.
 
GD ACC REFS!!!! ECU player gets blocked into the unc qb -- and they call roughing the passer on ecu. Clearly visible on replay. Gave them a first down, rather than a 3rd and 12. ECU would have only been down by 10 rather than 14.

I HATE ACC REFS!!!!

Edit: Of course, it is the idiot Ron Cherry who is running that crew.

Good ole Ron Cherry. That should have been a block in the back or clipping on UNC. Looks like RC was looking up the field at the throw and then saw the QB go down. He ASSumed he was hit late.
 
No, I want a North Carolina team not to get blow jobs from the GD refs. I want ACC refs not to be in the back pocket for NC teams.

Why are ACC refs working this game? I thought generally the visiting team brought the refs. That's the case with our game against U[sic]GA right?
 
Sorry, GSU. I do not want refs in anyone's back pocket, but especially NC schools. I truly believe UNC would win this game fairly -- and now ECU has an excuse. And I just hate it when there is a blatant call like that that can completely change the outcome of a game.
 
... at least Clemson is making us look better by laying the wood on BC.

It's whatever the schools agree to in the contract. For example, unless they've changed it, PAC 10 schools used to always insist on PAC 10 refs or they wouldn't play.
 
Clemson with 5 field goals and a punt return TD. No TDs by their offense so far. I'm really worried about our pass defense.
 
UNC probably wins without the call, but Ron Cherry made sure with that call. Assuming he is not a cheater, he is just plain awful. Must not have watched the play, just saw the QB after being hit, so he threw the flag. If he was watching he would have seen the late block in the block that pushed CJ Wilson into him.

We have to beat UNC next week. They have a great fron defensive seven with depth. But, their offense is not impressive. To lose at home to them pretty much puts most season goals out of reach in September. We have to run at them, use some play action for passes, and get a lot of blockers at the point of attack.
