With nine games to go and based on what we have seen thus far, I see our schedule breakdown like this:

Games We Should Win:
Vandy
Miss State
Wake
Duke
UVA

Game Even:
UNC

Games We Should Be Underdogs:
FSU
Va Tech
UGA

We have five games against teams that so far look bad (Duke and UVA) to mediocre (Vandy, Miss State, and Wake).

UNC looks OK and the other three look good, though not world beaters. We have beaten one team that looks pretty good (Clemson) and lost to one team that looks very good.

It is time to get attitudes right, for 8-4 is still what we should do at the least and 9-3 or better is still within reach. Time to go to work.

At the beginning of the season I felt 9-3 would make for a good season. The October stretch of the schedule looked rough at the beginning of the season;

@ Miss St, @ FSU, vs VT, @ UVA, @Vandy

I thought a 3-2 month would be good, but 2-3 was a possibility. I don't 'fear' October like I once did --UVA is terrible and Vandy could only put up 3 against Miss St this past weekend.

UNC is a pivitol game in terms of how the season progresses. A 3-1 September and a 3-2 October puts GT in a position --with a win over UGA-- to indeed go 9-3.

If the team can improve as the year goes on --both sides of the ball obviously-- then GT could do even better. If we start playing better football then come mid-October I can see GT defeating VT.

Hopefully we go 2/3 on UNC, FSU, and VT.

In fact if I had to pick a loss it would be FSU (atlantic division).

I refuse to count the Mutts in my possible losses until after the game is over.

I think we still have a real shot at 10-2 and the ACC.

I also think we blow the doors off UNC but at the same time their d-line scares me...

If we stomp UNC I will feel real good about 10-2.

Ive been telling myself this since Thursday, but it really didnt sink in until I actually read it... go figure that the one year that Clempson is off the radar, they could actually be good, and we can be more certain this weekend once they handle TCU. Miami is going to pound VT, enough said

In my mind, GT is at a huge crossroads this weekend, either Tech settles down and stops the bleeding with a very attainable W vs UNC, or we get beaten by UNC and the wheels are gonna start to wobble

I am hesitant to think our o could blow the doors off of a double wide at this point, much less an experienced front seven..... and who even knows what kind of progress we will make during practice this week with this god-awful weather

I think Miami is better than VT. With that said I hope Beamerball finds a way. GT's road to the ACC championship runs through VT beating Miami and GT beating VT. I don't see another way except maybe UNC beating Miami but I doubt it...

I know the tiebreakers for the ACC run as follows:
1. ACC record
2. Head to Head wins
3. Division Record

but after that I don't know...

is #4 BCS standings? The only way I see GT ahead of Miami or VT at the end of the season is a late loss for one of them.

Sorry but I just don't see this happening. I'm fully prepared to be proven wrong, but I think VT's defense will be a step up from what Miami has had to face to date, and we don't know how Harris will respond against good coverage and/or a good pass rush.

I think PJ will get their **** mind rite.

Seriously though, I bet PJ is ripping them a new one. The starters on the lines need to feel competition behind them and they should try some freshman.

Wheels start to wobble? If we lose to UNC, our players' preseason goals that CPJ talked about will be all gone besides "being a good person" and "beating UGA."

Our goals of winning the ACC and going undefeated at home would be gone. More than likely our rushing stats goal would be gone. This weekend's game holds a TON of weight if we lose. It's probably one of the most critical games in the CPJ era.

It will be much worse than wheels wobbling if we lose. Hence the reason I am EXTREMELY confident that we will win.

What notion makes you think we will blow the doors off of UNC from what you've seen thus far in the season. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I feel like we've done nothing to think we will be killing anyone.

How many bad games did you see from GT last year? About 2~3 I'd say.

How many games did you see where we blew doors off people last year?

How many bad games did you see back to back from GT last year?

That's why UNC could be a huge game.

We'll see.

Could. I'd be glad to be proven wrong. But I feel like there's no chemistry right now on offense, and our defense looks abysmal and won't change overnight.

I had no idea what to expect before the Miami game...felt like our play was a complete roll of the dice.

I feel the same way about each of the next 9 until the team shows a consistent pattern of behavior.
