I saw it in the AJC that Shaw is back, and CPJ may play him this weekend... no offense to Nesbitt at all because it's all about blocking, but maybe Jaybo can get better reads? I dunno...

Dwyer says he's not frustrated with not having many yards or TD's, saying that big plays will come... I hope he's right...

Theres also a bit about Butch Davis' strategies and expectations, and Cooper Taylor's condition

Re: Jaybo Shaw to start full-contact drills this week

I'm never very comfortable when Jaybo plays. He seems sort of small.

On the main page this read "Jaybo Shaw to start". I was a little surprised...

Re: Jaybo Shaw to start full-contact drills this week

Nesbitt has been getting yards in the last two games that there is NO WAY Jaybo would've gotten.

tru dat... the kid is keeping when he needs to. Jaybo was shaky last year, but I wonder how he's developed... maybe HE is the better QB this year...

I remember Taylor Bennett being out there a couple of years ago and when Nesbitt or Booker (preferably Nesbitt) came out to sub we were relieved...

Jaybo will be suited up but will not play unless we are in a desperate situation.

He has not been hit since his injury August 14...and will wear the non-contact jersey until Monday of next week.

You'd still have to think Tevin would be the first off the bench, in that situation.

Man I hope Jaybo doesn't play, honestly he just came back from injury why rush him, plus Nesbitt has done nothing HORRIBLE imo other than his passing game which stinks, but you can't stretch the field with Jaybo's arm, its a noodle, the bomb he threw to Bebe last year against Duke, was so weak Bebe slowed doen and still ran by the defender, btw Bebe seems to be the only stud along with Derrick Morgan who hasn't slacked in every facet of the game, i might be wrong but they both have carried their end

we're basing our assumptions of Jaybo off last year's performance.

if we can do that, then Roddy must have busted up the sidelines for several TD's, Dwyer must have shed tackles like no other, and we must have almost zero pass attempts, just like last year! right?

oh... nevermind...

kids change, opponents change, teams change. We don't know until we see him.

I do hope he's solved his little "butterfinger'' problem though..

I think Jaybo throws the ball fine, I mean in fact, he had the most passing yards in a game last year so it's hard to argue. At this point, I'd say Nesbitt would have over thrown bay bay by 20 yards in the Duke game last year.

He fumbles a little too much to suit me. We don't really know where he stands right now. I don't think benching Nes is the right thing to do, but for the sake of mixing it up a little bit, why not put Jaybo in? He does make good reads, be came from the option offense so naturally he probably does make better reads than Nes.

Jus saying. Not calling for Nes's head in the least, but I could see where Jaybo could do something postive for the offense.

Small has nothing to do with anything in this offense

BTW when a player is shorter, he has a lower center of gravity, and that can make him harder to get down / under

EDIT: before someone who does not know why I posted this video because they are not running the flexbone, that is Jayson Foster, Mike Sewaks old Flexbone QB from Georgia Southern before Sewak was fired.

Do you REALLY believe Jaybo is harder to tackle than Nesbitt? LOL
At the same weight and strength, there is some legitamcy to your statement. but that ain't the case here.

Well i mean if Josh over throws him then jaybo may under throw him...... I don't hate Jaybo and if hes the best option so be it, but i just think Nesbitt has more upside and with reps will soon be fine, some will say he had all year to get reps but he was learning it all then some pitches alrdy this year have been better, decision makin can always be questioned for any player but idk we'll see if he struggles we all know that CPJ won't hesitate to put in someone else

Jaybo against those bone-crushing D-Lineman of UNC with OUR "offensive" line?

That'll happen right after Chuck Norris guest hosts The View.

I worry about Shaw over the next few years. Seems like he is another concussion or so for his career being over w/.

Putting Jaybo in vs UNC would guarantee a re-broken collar bone. It's a Butch Davis team. He'll tell them to flop on him until he's dead and carried off on a stretcher. Same goes for FSU, VT, and UGA this year. He might survive our other games, depending.

He needs a year for it to heal, honestly.

I hope Jaybo plays because that would mean that our 2nd string is in getting reps because we already secured a win late in the 4th Qtr. with Josh and the rest of our 1st string.
