I'm sorry. There is no way that an official that blows a stopped clock in that fashion is not CHEATING.

I'm halfway through with my training as an official. I can't see how anyone could blow that without being an ACC official, and on the take.

Not to mention 4 other calls. Two holding penatlies not called, a no call on a facemask, and a phantom block in the back negating a big return. **** these pieces of ****. They are lucky I'm not at that game. I would storm the field at games end and punch that **** head square in the face.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, now I get it.

They are basketball refs!

It could happen before game's end. I'm also watching it on TV and I saw someone give the officials the bird on camera at the end of the half.

The officiating just plain sucks. Unreal.

There were 2 facemasks that weren't called. I could not imagine refs being on the take, but there would be plenty of strong evidence to support it in this game.

I agree. The only thing we can do as fans is videocapture it and stick it on youtube with a tag, "bad acc refs." There's a lot of them there already.

I would have personally have paid for your ticket and plane flight if I knew I would see this.

My problem with that call is two-fold. First, there is no way you can rule a forward progress stop on that play. It was bang-bang-out of bounds. That itself was bogus. Second, if you forgot to signal for a clock stoppage, and the coach is yelling at you from 5 yards away, you think, "Oh, crap! I just blew it!" and you blow your whistle. Then you tell the Ref you blew it and he calls up to the replay official to check the time that's supposed to be on the clock.

Just that simple.

Problem is, the Ref and all the rest of the officals for the game also should have known the clock stops with the first down. NO ONE blew the whistle. Every official let the clock run down with PJ screaming and running around on the field. I heard him in the Upper North! All one had to do was blow the whistle and stop the clock.

You can call tihs just blatant incompetence, or you can call it what it looks like - the ACC is run by a bunch of crooked NC hillbillies who act like they're guarding the family moonshine still.

Either way, it's real bad.

If this happened in a high school game, it would be inexcusable. Happening in a BCS conference, the second-highest level of football, is beyond all understanding. Like the Virginia Tech game two years ago, where their OL outright tackled our DL at the end of the game, I have to ask if the conspiracy theories are true.

I hate to be cynical, but I can see how a ref could be on the take. I doubt there was enough money on our game to make it worth anyone's time to buy one off, but in big games I can see it. Penalty calls or non-calls are not reviewable/reversible.

I don't believe there is a conspiracy. I believe ACC refs are that incompetent. I'll say this to their credit: At least this year they are getting video reviews right. Last year they couldn't even get calls right watching replays.

More than anything, I want to hear the explanation we won't get for exactly why they didn't stop the clock.

I absolutely believe that the refs may look the other way on some calls to suit UNC. One of the first things I noticed that the ISP corporate box (I think that is the new ISP box) located on the north end of the east stands was 90% UNC fans.

Now tell me, I have been a GT fan my entire 43 years on this planet (grandfathers and dad made sure of it) and I have yet to ever get to see a game from the comfort of a box. That is just fine. However, it burns me up to know that freakin' freebies are being given out to UNC pricks at our stadium to sit in a comfortable box. Dammit.
