OK, that subject has been beaten to death. And the counters to that theory have also been beaten to death. But seeing it come up again with EVERY opponent and mentioned again from many analysts. Taking off my gold-colored glasses, I am still left with a burning question for those proposing our "exposure".

Why doesn't anyone say, "Georgia Tech was exposed by Gardner-Webb?"

For those on this board, it is a bit of a rhetorical question. But why do people insist on pointing to that one game when we played poorly and were "stopped" in games before and after LSU?

If we were truly "exposed" by LSU, then we should have run roughshod over everyone before that game and we should have been stopped easily by everyone after that game.

That LSU game is still killing us. We'd be Top 15 right now without it and the ACC wouldn't be getting slammed. We'll get over it however.

Because that was our most high profile game last year and the only one that everybody watched, plus they had a month to prepare for us.

Because everyone in the country was watching.

Because if everyone and their grandmother on ESPN picks you and you fail to win (especially as badly as we did), they put this big circle around you and remind you of it for at least a year just to spite you. That's the only explanation I can come up with. Either that or ESPN doesn't understand the concept of an "off game" unless if you have the letters SEC behind your name, you are USC(w), or you are Ohio State.

This is simple: LSU and Miami exposed and stopped us. So did Clemson for the most part. Anytime we win now, it's because the other team either did not know about or could not execute the blueprint. Any team that has film of the LSU or Miami games and does not screw up beats us handily. We are not a good team and we can't impose our will on anyone; our only hope is for the other team to play terribly.

As long as we keep winning, it's fine if other teams think that. Let them think that. Whatever.

Yeah, so did UNC. So did UVA for that matter. Every time we lose, we've been exposed. I'm starting feel like dancer in the median on MLK.

Miami exposed us by infecting our team with "block-itis". They looked like world-beaters because we couldn't block the wind.

Yeah and that is EXACTLY how it is reported.

I was flabbergasted to hear Dr. Lou talk only about the unfortunate failings of UNC rather than success of GT. BUT IT WAS ONLY TWO GAMES SINCE HE LEARNEDLY EXPLAINED THE SUCCESS OF THE T.O. IN THE CLEMSON GAME, POINTING OUT THE VARIOUS BLOCK EXECUTIONS.

Gardner-Webb didn't expose "us". They exposed an option team led by a quarterback (Calvin Booker) who couldn't run the option to save his life. No one looks back at that game because that wasn't our team.

Let's face it guys. That was our big chance and we blew it.

We'll get more chances but let's be honest about the damage done by that game.

It seems like the couple of times that we have had the chance to make a statement, we have ended up shooting ourselves in the foot.

I don't buy that. We would probably be ranked in the low 20s, high teens right now if we won, but it's last year.

As for people saying that we're figured out, it's because most analysts don't know anything about football, and they assume that a "gimmick" offense is a one-trick pony.

OK, clearly missing the point. We had other poor games prior to LSU. And even with Calvin Booker or a student selected from the intramural teams to toss the ball to Dwyer every time, we should have done better against Gardner-Webb.

You can rationalize the poor performance of ANY loss for some reason. As I posted, plenty of evidence exists that even LSU didn't "stop" us as much as we stopped ourselves (and failed to stop them.)

GiveEmHell nailed the issue better than I could.

Because no one watched any of our games except for LSU. No one cares about a midseason ACC matchup between GT and UNC or GT and Clemson. However, LSU is a big name team and it was the only game on and it was in primetime, so everyone saw it. Kind of like how everyone saw our Clemson and Miami games and that's why our fall in the polls was disproportionate to other teams with one loss.

Is this TIC?

It's your classic smear campaign. It's been said before but I'll reiterate - if there was one perfect offensive scheme then every football coach in America would be using it.
