Dab'oh on the hot seat?

If Clemson loses @Maryland this week, do you think Dabo will be on the hot seat?

Dab'oh Swinney's team blew a late lead to us, couldn't get much going at home against the Frogs, and really doesn't have a quality win this year. This week, the Fighting Rocks on a Pedestal play a game that gives them not much to win but a lot to lose: @Maryland. Maryland has crapped it up with the best of 'em so far. Duke has a better resume and record so far than the Terps.

So, if Clemson loses to Maryland this weekend, does that officially put Dabo in the hot seat? Or is it just way too early for him to be under fire?

I'm not sure if Dabo will be on the hot seat, but the UMD/UVA game will be a helluva game.

I don't know how happy people are with him this week, but losing to a team like Maryland is a step backwards. You played GT extremely close, and you gave the #15 in the country a good fight. You then go and barf it up against the Fightin' Turtles?

If they lose this game, Dabo will look like the amateur he is.

I voted yes. But I don't think that Dabo is currently on the hotseat. If he loses to Maryland which is currently an awful awful team, then he will be on the hotseat.

There are already quite a few grumblers popping up on their Scout board. Could just be sour grapes after the loss but still...

I am beginning to think that Clemson should have gone out and signed a coach with some credentials.

Maybe so, but many of us, including myself, strongly stated last year that we needed to hire an experienced, PROVEN WINNER! The two names I primarily promoted were Gary Patterson and Chris Peterson. Well, we faced one today and he beat us with less talent. If Patterson had been leading our program since January, we would have won today's game by at least three TDs.

Dabo is a nice, likable guy that has seems to have some good leadership qualities, but he is not the coach Patterson is, at least not at this time.

I hope Dabo becomes the best coach in Clemson history, but the problem is we need him to be a great coach now and I am afraid it may take several years for him to develop into that (if he ever does).

I love my Tigers, but Dabo learned the ropes from Bowden and his teams choke like Bowden's. He shot his wad last year and now all his cute talk rings hollow. No reason to lose that game yesterday. We need a coach with skill and MATURITY. Dabo lacks the latter.

He's been OUR HC for 11 games now which is just about a season. It's time for him to show up. If we are going to use the excuse that he hasn't been a HC before this, then he never should have been hired.

Thanks for those quotes. Reminds me an awful lot of what Bama fans were saying about Mike Shula, esp. the stuff about how they don't have time for a head coach who is still learning how to coach. Dabo is similar to Mike Shula in a lot of ways, and that's not good for Clemson.

He should be. If I were a Clemson fan, I'd do whatever I could to get Tubberville.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Tubberville would be great for them, and the poster on their board that suggested Chris Peterson was spot on too. Tubberville would have that defense in the Top 10 with the guys they have, and Peterson would have the offensive personnel to do great.

I said no. No matter what happens, if they fired him this quickly they'd look even stupider than they did when they hired him to start with.

I like Dabo...I'm also a Tech fan and he's the Clemson coach so take that with a grain of salt.

Clemson is gonna roll Maryland up which will further open the door for Fridge to step down... I realize its gotta open really big to get him out but if you wanna talk about hot seat in the ACC he is all over it

I think that every coach deserves to go through his first contract. Just do not be stupid and renew the contract too early or have it too long. Five years should be long enough.

Dabo's hire has always baffled me. Just as shocking are the number of Clemson fans who were once knowledgeable about football devolving into defenders of Dabo based on his "energy level".

High energy, happy-go-lucky hootin and hollerin spirit is the exact nature of the Climsin fan during game time and therefore is exactly what they want to see in their coach. I guess it's good they all have so much spirit, but I think it comes off as retarded during game time.

I remember when a Clymsen player scored a touchdown against us last year. Dabo ran up to the guy on the bench, but his hand behind the players head as if cradling a precious baby, and he was almost crying with happiness as his face got blaring red with emotion... retarded. Clemson sucks.

Clemson ain't firing nobody until they have the Bowden bill paid off.

And no, they don't have money to do whatever they want like some SEC schools do.
