I am listening to the CPJ show right now. Just heard a GREAT quote.

Coach was asked about how we just played 3 conference games and we are now playing an out of conference game. This out of conference game is against a team from the SEC so there shouldn't be any real intensity drop, right?

Coach goes, "Yeah, we're not supposed to be able to play with those teams from the SEC. So ... it's gonna be a challenge." This was VERY tongue in cheek and roused up the crowd who was there for the show. I love the chip on the shoulder mentality that he has.

CPJ just gets it. He understands. He listens. Boy, I am proud to have him as our coach. It really sounds like our team is going to try and prove something this game. Saturday night can't get here any sooner ...

I have said many times one of the key differences (of thousands) between CPJ and Chan is Johnson's exquisite understanding of the college game and the college player. Chan's NFL mentality forced him to see every game as "the game this week". CPJ's question in the locker room posted on another thread says it all: How about them Jackets? He is dialed into the players and their hot buttons. He will use that concept of SEC>ACC to coax them into max effort. Ross did the same thing. He will have them believing that they are crusaders out to uphold the honor of the conference.
