How tough will this be on us. We talked about how 3 games in 12 days was tough. This has to be a tough part of our schedule too. On the road almost every week. Can we make it through with out a loss or two?

We should beat UVA and Vandy soundly, regardless of where the game is. I don't think we lose to both FSU and VPI, and hopefully we don't lose at all.

I say we beat MSU, lose to FSU, then win out for the rest of the season. That's right, I said it... we go 10-2 this year... (preparing to eat words)

i actually agree with the 10-2 or 9-3... I see us losing to FSU on the road :(

Normally I'd agree but it truly does depend on which FSU shows up. We get the FSU that player Jax St or South Florida, we can come out with a win.

I'd theorize that one away game doesn't greatly affect the other, in terms of physical things like fatigue, but it might affect mentally and it definitely affects the games themselves.

I don't see the FSU of Jax St. & USF showing up. I see a pissed off team remembering last years game.

FSU is not a good football team. They are a mid pack ACC team and they are going to get beat next weekend.

Obviously we'd like to win them all, but I won't be crushed if we go into the Wake Forest game with a 7-2 record.

That's what many saw happening all along. It's just there were times when we didn't look capable of it the past month.

That's part of why I'm so excited about this game. Either it will show that we're improving from a rough start or that we're schizophrenic.

Indeed.

I don't think we'll be schizophrenic though. When FSU does it, their good games are high flying offense and defense. Making big plays and giving up big plays. I don't think the way we played UNC would reflect a schizophrenic team. Schizos don't have the patience for a 17 play, 8+ min drive that only had 2-3 pass plays in it :D

I don't know if the revenge factor as we know (stomping someone the year before and being very very upset about it) counts for our game with FSU last year we didn't thrash them, yes we were the better team, but I don't think it will apply, they wil be fired up but im not sure if they are Miami fired up or us against UNC fired up

Florida State is a beleagured team right now. I can't decide whether a loss to Boston College helps us or hurts us, relative to FSU's mindset in the game against us. I kinda think another loss would push them squarely into the "next year" mode. A win against BC gets them thinking ACCCG again. They have so many athletes it is crazy that they aren't playing any better than they are.

The good part of the UNC game was, that despite a lot of mistakes, we pushed thru to a win, almost willed themselves to win. I think that is testament to CPJ and the staff. I don't know, but I suspect some serious challenges were thrown out to the players---and they responded. This week going on the road will test our discipline and our focus. It seemed to be where it needed to be last game. A lot has been said about the learning curve, but just like last year you can see improvement from week to week. And just as the players are still learning their jobs, the coaches are learning more and more about the players. Part of being such a young team is that even the coaches don't fully have a handle on some of the individual capabilities. Some of the personnel moves prior to the UNC game apparently paid big dividends. Each week --like last year--they will tweek things while at the same time getting better and better performances from the players. This staff can "coach" in every sense of the word.

I think a loss at BC hurts us a lot. Even if FSU is sucking they are still FSU and they will still think like a team that should be among the elite. Catching them after two losses to physically inferior opponents at their place, at night, on family weekend (from what I heard), we "Should" find a highly motivated team.

This is indeed a tough stretch; road- SEC, road- pissed off FSU team, home- top five (6) VT, road- haven't won @ UVA since I was in my mid 20's, road- (bad) SEC. Further, there is no off-week during this stretch.

I said it prior to the start of the season that I'd be happy with a 3-2 October, although now that UVA looks terrible and the two SEC teams don't appear to be all that good, I'm confident GT can split FSU, VT. I would be elated heading into November at 7-2 (4-2).

FSU has been abysmal at home lately and very good on the road.

Obviously, they have something going on w/the coaching staff--almost getting upset by Jax St. is one thing, laying the same turd again against S. Fl. is another. FSU's rushing game is terrible.

The more I see FSU play, the more I think we win.

Maybe their season is a lot different right now if Ponder's last play of the game pass vs. Miami is a foot higher.
