- Starkville is about 20 years behind us. It was disturbing. The video board sure was nice though, kinda funny to see there.

- Cowbells take annoying to a whole new level.

- We struggled defensively, I think there will be some changes this week. Reese should be back. We should know by Wednesday on Coop.

- Secondary must get better for FSU, they will shred us if we don't improve. We might shuffle a few guys around and try them in new spots.

- Sylvester is about to burst on the scene, he is gonna be a player for us in the next couple years.

- We still need more production out of the Dline. Egbu is doing well with the pass rush but struggling during runs. Izann drew some praises.

- Sweeting got a little dinged up but should be good (bruise), he has drawn some praise from the coaches for his technique and knowledge.

- Marcus might miss some time with an injury. It will be looked at closer this week but he is definitely out the first couple of practices.

- Stephen was excited after the game. He had been waiting for a breakout game. He is a phenomenal young man and was smiling ear to ear after the game.

- Improving on 3rd down conversions have helped the offense turn the corner.

- Scott and Tanner will still battle it out this week for kicking duties. It might stay that way for a while, best week of practice will get the nod.

- This week is big, we need to keep the momentum going. FSU is physical up front, that's what the staff will be preaching all week is to be more physical. Miami hit us in the mouth, and we didn't respond, FSU will want to do the same.

- How many teams in the country do you think would like to have our option WR's? Hill and BayBay are intimidating out there. Not bad for a running offense.

Sometimes I just believe our guys that KO are just, it seems, thinking too much.

Against unc, we kicked several in the end zone then it broke down.

They only thing they need to worry about is kicking the heck out of the ball and cover.

I don't know if they are thinking "technique", "placement" or what.

We were blowing up the other teams wedges in the first couple of games, gotta get a new gameplan now, the cut back lanes are wide open and teams see that.

Thanks for your thoughts Dems... Always look forward to your updates.

Thanks for the info. Is PJ unhappy with Wommack?

I wouldn't go that far. He wants it to get better quickly but I think he has faith in him to get it right. He needs to show some improvement this week thats for sure.

This leads me to believe that the coaches think the defensive gameplan was sound but the players failed to execute that gameplan. If that's the case, I don't see CPJ being disappointed with Wommack's defensive strategy but certainly there are questions as to why the defense is not developing well.

Right on DEMS! Thanks for the intell. It feels great to hear a that a talented youngster like S.HILL works his butt off in practice, gets a shot and capitalizes on it! Really cool to hear him so excited! THIS IS WHAT WE NEED ON THE FLATS!

Stephen has the chance to be phenomenal. He has great hands and speed. Needs to shore up his route running and just keep getting stronger but he's working. He will get there.

How much do you think MSU's hurry up offense hurt us? We didn't seem to have the option of switching out "run" or "pass" specialists like we usually try to do.

Maybe slightly but it shouldn't matter. They need to play their lanes better and not get out of position. Some are trying to do too much.

Against UNC, I think Blair worked himself up trying to kick every ball into the endzone. When the ball pulls left like that (for a right footed kicker), it usually means he is trying to kick too hard. I think he is trying to hit deep left, but the ball is pulling just enough to get out of bounds.

Some are trying to do too much.

Yep, I even saw D Morgan crashing down on the dive a few times and the QB would keep and run right by him. It just goes to show how difficult (yet simple) it is to defend the option.

Dems, it's great to have you back in full force. Those of us who know something about anything around here are happy to have you back.

Demjackets, why (after every game) does CPJ have the same complaint that our guys on defense are running around without knowing where to be? I mean, this really shouldn't still be an issue should it?

Bebe is strong as an ox. He stiff armed that DB in the ground several times.

If Hill can get stronger (like that) he will be one of the best we've ever had on the Flats!
