We may very well lose on Saturday night.... but I can't believe how many folks are predicting an FSU victory. Their run defense is going to have to play a lot better then they have shown so far in 2009 to stop the Jackets:

Georgia Tech (4-1, 2-1 ACC) at Florida State (2-3, 0-2 ACC)

Time: 8 p.m.
TV: ESPN2.
Key for the Yellow Jackets:
Play keep-away from the potent FSU offense. And they can do that by maintaining their average of 5.6 yards per first-down rush.
Key for the Seminoles:
Block out the distractions surrounding coach Bobby Bowden, whose future is being called into question.
Numbers Game:
Georgia Tech’s Demaryius Thomas has accounted for 68.6 percent of the Jackets’ receptions and 69.9 percent of their receiving yards. … The average FSU game has included 562 passing yards – 285.4 by the Noles and 276.8 by their opponents.
Prediction:
Seminoles 27, Yellow Jackets 23.

CFN, AccuScore, Dinich, and some of the CFN experts picked us. As we have seen with the UNC game and the Miami game. People don't know what they are talking about when they are picking teams. That's why we play the game.

This game Saturday is ours to lose. Everything is lining up for us perfectly in terms of injuries, their defensive weakness, etc. No excuses this Saturday (unless if there is a major injury ... knock on wood).

Accuscore picked GT and they have the highest percent correct... but computers and paper won't decide the game.

I'm not talking trash, I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut and watch the game and let the players decide if we win or lose.

FSU is potent enough to throw for 350 yards against us if we don't pressure the quarterback and cover guys.

Crompton (proved it this season) and Cox (proved it on his numerous overthrows in the game last week when he was receiving no pressure).

Crompton has proved that since he started playing college football, no offense meant to the guy...

Harmon Forecast also picked GT. We must get some stops on defense, or it will be hard to score enough points to win. I don't think FSU will stop themselves as much as Miss. St. did. I realize we had something to do with that (forcing fumbles), but MSU was not careful with the ball.

I think 3 of the 5 fumbles (or 2 of the 4 if I'm imagining an extra fumble, which I might be) were forced by our team and not by their ef ups . That said, you're right...

Can't agree with this. Our guys forced those turnovers in the strictest sense of the word. That was by far the best aspect of our defense that night was the determination to get the ball back.

Schultz (dog lover that he is) picked us.

He is also 5-0 in his picks for us so far.....

Which leads me to Saturday in old Tallahassee: Georgia Tech against the empty polo shirt of Bobby Bowden. If you can’t make it for the start of the game, be sure to tune in by halftime for the public stoning.
The Seminoles aren’t a football team any more. They’re Mutiny on the Bounty meets the Salem Witch Trials. And somebody thinks they’re going to pull together? No.
Georgia Tech is getting three points. Must be a thank you gift for attending the funeral. Take the trey. But Jackets over Flawed State straight up.

Maybe they should have dedicated some of their determination into tackling Dixon the first time they hit him, so that if they didn't get the strip we could at least still get some stops....

Dixon was a great runner. Reminds me of a less nimble Dwyer. And I agree with the previous poster that we forced those fumbles (4 of the 5 to be specific). I watched the replay on Wednesday night on CSS and we dominated until the 4th when we played prevent.

If our defense plays like it has in the previous 2 road games, I think we will lose.
