Say what you will...

2 takeaways.
9 points.
~135 total yards.
1 forced miss on a critical 2 pt conversion.

Yes, they are a serious liability. BUT, crucial halftime adjustments (as minute as they seemed) were made.

Lots to work on for sure, but I do agree with you! They stepped up when they had to and got some stops!!!!

as much crap as me and everyone else was giving them in the first half --and most deservedly so-- the second half performance was pretty solid. We'll need four quarters of that next week if we want to knock off VT.

Amen. They made enough stops to get us in position to win. Obviously, clearly we've got some severe issues but if they don't man up on those few occasions that they did then we've got our second loss right now.

GO JACKETS!

Sometimes the most you can ask for is improvement. The defense showed that between halves. At the very least we can have no fears of them giving up or losing heart in a game.

They had to be tired as hell after that first half. They did hang in there. FSU's receivers did drop several easy catches. But the D did enough for us to escape with a W.

Totally agree. The first half was awful, but they came out with their heads up and played hard the second half when it would have been easy to quit. Also liked the fact that we saw a lot of different guys getting some time and Wommack tried a bunch of different things. Not sure what slowed FSU down, and the O keeping the ball for quite a bit of the 3rd quarter helped a ton, but it was a huge improvement over the first half.

I think it had a lot to do with FSU offense seriously getting tired as well, just like us being tired had a part in our fumbles in the second half.

This is definitely true, on Morgans sack 3 offensive lineman were on the ground, they looked really tired on those last couple FSU drives.

They played better in the second half...but a few stops were dropped passes. I mean passes that were right in the WR's hands.

Hopefully they correct some of these problems this week and come out and play hard against VT.

I still remember 51-7 against them at Gameday, I want to return the favor.

The pass coverage was still atrocious in the second half. The difference was the line successfully rattling Ponder.

I'm sorry, but I went to Tech in da '90's, I'm sooooo happy to beat FSU, again! mickey couldn't take out josh!!! SOME BITCH! Bobby bowden sucks, dag gumit.

Drops and our TOP were the primary factors in the 2nd half "improvement". They did up the pressure on Ponder though. It's partly scheme, but our corners couldn't hang with Jabba the Hut. They aren't even in the picture on most catches. If we don't nearly sell-out to pressure Taylor, it will be awful. Hell, even Cox with AJ Green and Moore would have killed us last night.
