What does this team have to do to get recognition?

The only mention of us in the "GameDay Final" was the fact that Bobby Bowden played us this week. No helmet sticker for 271 yards of offense and 4 touchdowns for Josh. (By GameDay finals... Ms. Spinach did give him one). There is a difference between going under the radar and getting no respect.

Let's go crush the sh!t out of the turkey cocks and show 'em all what Tech is all about!

Sadly, the Miami game made a concrete impression for many in the media. We were the springboard for "Tha U is back!!! ZOMG look at all that SWAGGER!!! Harris for Heisman!!! It's all about tha []_[]!!!" Hokie High is another media darling. If we could whip them convincingly, we'll get a little respect back.

i could care less if the dummies at ESPN dont talk about Tech. All i care about is the result on the field

We'll be lucky to get into the top 10 if we beat VT and we won't ever pass Miami if we both win out. It sucks but that's the way it is.

I agree to a certain extent, but the more media coverage we get, the more likely we are to rise in the polls, the more likely it is for us to be the one who represents the Coastal division in the ACCCG. So, personally I do not care about the media, but I do think that we need a better representation in the media to promote our cause.

I think the late finish of our game had a lot to do with that. I did see coverage today on College Football Final.

Glad this is what we've learned in week 6 in the ACC:

2. Emotion can't overcome X's and O's. It's not like Florida State didn't play with heart against Georgia Tech. It's not like quarterback Christian Ponder didn't play well enough to win. It's not like the Seminoles gave up. They played with a purpose and for their head coach, Bobby Bowden. But those qualities couldn't overcome a lack of adjustments, missed tackles or missed assignments on defense. Paul Johnson's offense has proven time and time again it's not a 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust philosophy. It's got big-play capabilities and FSU learned that the hard way Saturday night.

So glad that when we learn something that has to do with Georgia Tech, it's all about FSU. It's pitiful that we could lose to 2 very good teams this year and get the same amount of respect as someone like Wisconsin.

I have an interesting question: if we win, will we be ranked higher than VPI? They'll even have one more loss than us, but somehow I wouldn't be surprised if we only went up the requisite couple of spots and VT was ranked 10ish. Such is life for the Tech fan.

Exactly. That will all go away in a poof of smoke if we find a way to win this Saturday. As good as last night felt, the perception is that we just beat a 2-4 team in turmoil.

I suspectt VT would drop to 14 or 15 and we'd land one spot ahead of them.

Doesn't really matter to me...if we keep winning they can't keep ignoring us.

We've shown time and time in the past that we have the uncanny ability to lose 2-3 games that we have no business losing, under Gailey especially but even last year(UNC, UVA). The polls are just reflecting that right now IMO. If we can show that we are consistent winners we will get the ranking to reflect that.

The game ended 15 min before Final ended. They had no time to do anything on our game.
