If Virginia Tech destroys us, what does it say for the conference? If we take them down will it be good of bad for the overall prestige of the ACC?

Parity is good as long as it is a few elite teams at the top. See the Big 12 last year.
FSU took crap in the 90's for winning a weak conference to get to the NC game. Beating VT would be good for the conference.
Regardless of who wins this game I am convinced that we will prove once and for all that Virginia Tech is far from being the #4 team in the nation. How that came about I will never know. Lost to Alabama, miracle to avoid a loss to Nebraska, and beat Miami in a downpour. They were shaky against Duke and ripped a depleted BC team. These guys are pretenders getting a lot of mileage out of their reputation. Of all the one-loss teams I'd put them in the bottom half--seriously.The ACC needs VT to win Saturday in the worst way. Against all odds, VT has become a national title contender again despite losing to Alabama to open the season. If they beat us Saturday night, given the rest of their schedule, they have a very real shot at playing for the national title, which would be a major coup for the ACC.
I agree, but we don't have a few elite teams at the top, because our teams lose all their big out of conference games. Beating up on each other only works if you have a great conference image(see: SEC), and to get that you need to start winning OOC games and much more importantly national titles(see: SEC again.)
We're the last real chance for VT to lose, they're only 2 spots away from the title, and they definitely have the school name to get into the title game if two teams ahead of them lose. Swofford will be praying for VT.
That said, let's go out and kick them in the nuts.

This is what scares me. What are the odds that we get the Swofford-sanctioned officials we had for the UNC game?
Guaranteed, we'll know by the end of our first possession.
I really don't want to jinx anything, but have we had any illegal chop block penalties this year?
Significantly less. And I think that is due to CPJ's presentation about chop blocking in the off season.
M-Town and Yukon, I agree that VT has failed out of conference and probably isn't as good as their record indicates. The fact remains though that they are #4 in the nation and after us they have a very good shot of going undefeated the rest of the way. The ACC has absolutely been craving a national title contender, and they'll take one no matter how they get it.
