Both teams are starting to hit their stride, especially on offense. Virginia Tech has found a running game to go along with its defense and special teams, while Georgia Tech's option is clicking since the Miami game. This is a huge game in the ACC race, but I'll stick with the Hokies. If Miami's defense can stop the Yellow Jackets, Virginia Tech can too. :mad:

If the Hokies win here, the ACC Coastal title is pretty much decided. They would be 4-0 in the ACC with victories over Georgia Tech and Miami, and their remaining ACC schedule -- UNC, Maryland, NC State and Virginia - looks to be smooth sailing. Look for Virginia Tech RB Ryan Williams to have a field day. :mad:

True. We've never come from behind to win and it takes forever for our offense to score.

Same old **** from the ignorant media.
 
I hope we win on Saturday. But we're not going to if our 2ndary doens't figure out that they too are actually in the game. It's a glaring weakness that even Hellen Keller could see. VT's going to come down here with a gameplan that involves Taylor bombing some passes.
 
I'm pretty sure it was a sarcastic comment...but in reality I guess this just turns into another "it's time to stand up thread", because we can't complain about not having respect/love from the media when we lose the highlight games. I'll be in the south endzone screaming my head off, and probably occasionally throwing my hands in the air when I see a wide receiver with nobody within 10 yards of him

We also came back on VT last year only to have it ripped away by the officials...and then a slight overthrow from Nesbitt away from taking it back.
 
I don't know why you disagree with the comment about Williams running all over us. I think he puts up a 100 at least. This is not going to be a low scoring affair. Nor will it be in the 40's like FSU. I think this game will be in the 30's with a decent amount of offense on both sides. I don't think VPI will pass as often as FSU did, this means a big chunkage of yardage will have to come somewhere from them.

If we can get a couple of stops here and there, then that is all we need to do. I don't think their defense will completely shut us down...we may have to punt once or twice, but if we can get stops then it should be close.

Secondary isn't the worst part, it's the DT's. The secondary just shows the most brunt of our terrible DT's.

I'll take the bombs, it's the intermediate crossing routes that are killing us. Our DB's and LB's can't figure out who to cover, and it makes us suck.

And the swing pass. Jeez, can we keep that under 20 yards please?

I guess I just read it as look for him to have as many yards as he wants skipping down the field, while our defense stands there. Yeah, you'd have to be retarded to believe the same defense from teh past 2 weeks is suddenly going to turn into some powerhouse defense, but I think there is a lot to say about being back at home, having the crowd support you, and having no excuse about "looking forward" or things not being "simple enough".

These are the safe predictions. Predicting upsets is hard and usually makes "experts" look foolish. I prefer to go into this game as the underdog. It's a great opportunity for us, and a win would obviously create a atmosphere of anticipation for a memorable season. I'm afraid we don't have enough defense to be favored in this game, but I think it will be close. And if we get a couple turnovers and a couple lucky bounces we could come out celebrating. This is the "hump" game of the season, and there is no reason we can't win out after this game.
 
I'm willing to bet big money that the only time these people saw us play this year was against Miami.
 
This is the part that gives me great joy in being an underdog. We get to rub their noses in it following every terrific win. Will the nat'l media ever learn? Doubtful.
