I know VThug isn't making fun of our site

Hahaha....GTKyle response:

"Most forums have an offtopic section. You must be new to teh internets."

They're making some pretty pathetic efforts at nerd jokes. Even Georgia manages to come up with an original insult for us once in a while.

What happened to GTKyle's response and the other response saying that "The Lounge" is the same thing?

To the next person who links me to techsideline ... PLEASE, would you just write it out so I don't have to decipher that crappy gui.

They can't have it both ways - either they're Virginia Tech (which comes along with the nerd jokes) or they're Vippie Sue (and they have to bow down to THE Tech). Not that there's any question who the real Tech is.

They weren't even bright enough to invent the turducken. Do you expect them to understand anything about user interface design?

Truth be told, either none or all of the off-topic forums should appear when not logged in, but that only requires changing forum permissions in vBulletin, not upgrading your forum software to something that resembles having been made in this millennium.

True fact: if you google "Tech", Georgia Tech is the #5 result and the first college, whereas VPI is #14 and the 3rd college result (after MIT's frickin' newspaper).

That settles that.

When I do that GT is #1. Weird, I wonder if google gives a different return based on your IP or server location.

That is actually really funny.

For some reason it's the first result for me. Then CNN technology, some TechCrunch site, and fourth is VT.

Surprisingly, if I enter "Polytechnic institute and state university" VPISU is the first result.
