17-14.

I expected that should pick a much higher scoring game with a much larger MOV for VT. She stats that both of our offenses are impressive and our (GT's) defense is in disarray. She thinks that it will be a field position battle that will be won by VT due to their better punting and special teams play.

I totally disagree with that analysis. With our bad defense, it will be a much higher scoring affair. I think that it will be more like 31 - 24 VT due to our defense's incompetence (injuries and scheming issues). The over under is 52.5 I don't know how she thinks we will be way under that.

If both of our offenses are impressive and our defense is in disarray, how will the game be only 17-14?

Dinich logic, guys... you aren't thinking like her. Agreed though. If we play our hearts out, it's gonna be another FSU game. If we come in like I think we'll come in, it'll be closer to a 45-28 score with VT winning

VT is a pretty easy pick for the bloggers in this one.

Although the score prediction is a bit muddy.

Remeber also, when someone picks against GT that never means that they don't like GT, they are simply doing their jobs.

Well in this case I don't think you'll find anyone picking for GT. In fact, I'm surprised that the score differential was that low...although I guess predicting a close game makes you look less wrong if the other team wins.

If nothing else, HD definitely likes GT.

I think pretty much everyone agrees with that. I was pointing out the low score. I actually agree with her on VT winning. I think they win this one because of our defensive injuries and incompetence. But I think it will be a much higher scoring affair.

I don't read Dinich anymore. She lost me when she said the started drooling over the SEC in the ACC blog. Regardless - I'm not surprised by her pick.

Vegas line is only 3. And not much movement either way.

Total score seems a little off. I'd say this game is going to be in the high 40s at least no matter the outcome.

31-27 GT

We're going to get 30. If VT doesn't score 30 they are going to lose.

Why do you folks keep posting what that lil hussie thinks? Who cares what a girl thinks...this is football!!

I think that's a fair assessment. Y'all are going to get your points. I'll be ecstatic if we can keep you under 20. (ie: FG's instead of TD's)

EDIT: Dinach is insane if she actually believes both teams will be held under 20.

This actually causes me more optimism. Vegas sees something that others don't because most people would have thought the line would be VT -7.

HD is an idiot. The truth is, if we score 14, then they will beat us by at least 14. This should be a high scoring affair.

I'm pretty sure she doesn't actually watch games. That might give way to opinions and insight. I'm 99% sure she is just fed stats to spew out by some really geeky ESPN statisticians who grew up on Big East Football and hockey.

I think that the defense will figure some things out this week. Not to mention playing defense in a non-hostile environment is easier to 'relax'. I think vs Miami, MSU and FSU we were on the road and I think our guys were afraid to let a big play happen so they were thinking about their schemes more than reacting. At home vs UNC they showed they can play defense when they relax and just run to the ball.

I think we do a better job on defense then we've seen, however VPI does have a very good offense so even with our improved defense, it will still be a game in the thirties.

It will probably finish with both teams getting between 25-35 points.

I say a final score of 31-30 GT

It just dawned upon me ... perhaps Dinach is predicting that the score will be 17-14 VT at halftime?

She's not that bright.
Her shiny, massive forehead is though. I bet that thing can be used to signal passing airplanes in case of emergency.

I'm kidding, that's just plain mean. In all seriousness, she knows nothing about this thing called football.
