Uh oh...a little love for the Jackets

Yea, that alone makes me automatically throw his opinion in the trash.

Why is that so ridiculous?

-Notre Dame is better on offense than USC right now (33pts / 470 yds per game vs. 29 pts / 431 yds per game) against comparable competition
-USC is one of the worst teams in the country in 3rd down conversions (25%)
-Notre Dame (no different than any other ND/USC game at Notre Dame) has grown the turf to help neutralize any speed advantage USC may have
-USC - young QB on the road; young pocket QB vs Tenuta defense

If I were a regular gambler, I wouldn't have any problem taking the 10 pts and an outright win wouldn't surprise me at all.

Notre Dame has not looked good this year. They've been involved in close games against terrible teams. They lost to an average Michigan team.

Would USC have lost to Michigan? Any team in the top 15 would roll through that schedule handily. ND looks about as good as Georgia does, only they've been slightly luckier. Notre Dame is going to get waxed. Badly.

One of the best USC teams of all time needed an illegal play to beat ND in '05. And Notre Dame's defense has looked terrible - Clausen and the offense have been anything but...

As we proved at F$U, if you can score you're always in it (pun intended)

That was a good Notre Dame team though. This is not. ND's offense has looked good, but they haven't played anyone yet. And Tenuta's defense has looked terrible. He already let one true freshman shred his defense. USC is having a down year. For them. But Pete knows that he needs this game just as badly as Fat Chuck does. I wouldn't even take the ten points. Maybe 16. Maybe.

No, USC would have lost to MSU or some other half ass team in September.

ND will make a good game of it. All of their games have been close and Clausen has been money late in games. ND has a good offense and quite frankly USC hasn't been overly impressive at all this year. I think it will come down to the last possesion and if ND wins Clausen will emerge as a front runner for the Heisman.
