I hope we take him out to a nice seafood dinner. And never call him again.
Dorothy Shannon is a saint!

I give him credit for getting the 2nd highest graduation rate behind Stanford for BCS teams.
At least he does the right thing off the field. But we all know this country only cares about winning, morals come second.
Johnson laughed when asked about the chop-block comment during the ACC teleconference on Wednesday, saying “I think that’s illegal. We’ve been called for one for this year, so we must not use them a lot. Some people don’t know the difference between a chop block and cut block.”
Miami coach Randy Shannon said on Wednesday that he that he doesn’t consider chop blocks to be illegal, and said that Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson does a good job of coaching what he wants and getting it done.
Fixed that for you.I give him credit for getting the 2nd highest graduation rate behind Stanford for BCS teams.

Dabo Swinney > Randy Shannon
I'll give Randy Shannon props for keeping his kids out of trouble. But hey, lots of good high school principals do the same thing and probably couldn't coach a football team out of a wet paper bag.
Ever see "Lean on Me" with Morgan Freeman?
That's Randy Shannon right there.
Randy Shannon is a moron.
“Chop blocks to me are not illegal,” Shannon said on Wednesday. “It’s getting guys on the ground within the scheme. They do not high-low you. They just make sure they get you down on the backside. So sometimes you know when people hear the word ‘chop block,’ they’re thinking it’s something negative.”
He was clearly backtracking in his latest statements. Why would he mention what the officials see if he didn't think it was illegal?
I think the fact that he has cut blocks and chop blocks confused and just uses the term chop blocks for both of them is more likely. That or he thinks they are legit both called chop blocks and there's a legal kind and an illegal kind. I don't think he realizes how stupid he sounds or has sounded or he'd probably just stfu.
Or can we disguise it?

Lots of football coaches/players/commentators, etc., use the terms loosely. They know the difference, but they aren't consistent with their terminology. Just listen any Sat or Sun and count how many times someone talks about "chopping them down" on a cut block. It only means something because of our blocking schemes and whining from coaches like Beamer. Shannon was really just using the terms most in the game seem to use. It's clear he doesn't understand the difference between chop and cut blocks.

Then why would he comment on what the refs can or can not see? He clearly thinks it's illegal, and then backtracked when someone explained it to him.
