  • 10-46 record over the past 5 years
  • 3-35 in the Southern Conference the past 5 years
  • 3-17 in their last 20 home games, currently on a 7 home game losing streak
  • Last year, they lost by an average score of 34-16.
  • They lost at home last year to a Div II school called Tusculum, and the score was 54-30. Tusculum only awards 25 football scholarships.

I would hope that our 2d-3rd string at home is better than Tusculum's 1st string on the road. Only one thing should even possibly keep us from getting at least 50 points and easily covering the spread, and that's turnovers. If the game is close at any time in the second quarter or beyond, I'll be chugging pink vodka with BOR.

The other thing is Johnson having mercy for his alma mater. That makes me too nervous to bet.

Knock yourself out. Tech's covered 35 a whopping TWO times in the past 20 years. Surely it'll happen this year.
so we played a team as bad as WCU only two times in the past 20 years?

Just a joke, but yeah that's why I am only tempted and didn't make a bet yet.

This is what kept me from picking Tech to cover the spread. As much as I would love a 70-0 pounding, I don't think CPJ would do that to THIS school.

Yeah but what can he do if Days,Lee, Lyons and Perkins are tough to stop.

This. I am looking forward to the second half/fourth quarter of this game (and I'll be very disappointed if we're not in position for this scenario): Erin Joe and Shaq Mason will get playing time on the OL. Vad Lee will be at QB, Perkins at B-Back, Waller at one WR plus whatever our "depth" is going to be at A-Back. I expect we'll have a real shot at moving the ball even with them in.

I wouldn't worry Much about that.. Remember that story that said CPJ wouldn't even let his daughter win in checkers?

Yes, but he didn't say he would get all of his to kings and take all her checkers en route to winning. He just said he'd win.

Should be biggest route since Samford, 2007.

Oddly enough, Gailey had a connection to Samford (albeit not his alma mater like in PJ's case here), in that he coached there.

Regardless, if it's the biggest rout since that game, they'd cover 35.

Not necessarily. I think I heard him say this on the CPJ call in show with Wes, but didn't he get a C in a Coaching Football course? Between this, his desire to erase the misery of last season by sending a message, and his well-known balls of steel, things could get ugly.

Well, we don't want this to get out of hand TOO early. Our starters need plenty of game-time reps.

I remember the Samford game in 2007 and it was over before the first quarter and our starters were pulled. I was pissed because of that. Not saying I want a close game going into the 4th quarter, but our guys do need to work for the scores.

We have a potential trap road game and seriously, we need plenty of game-time reps.

GO JACKETS!!
