NCAA Changes

If that department generated almost literally no revenue this year, has never generated revenue in the past, has no chance of ever generating revenue in the future, and does not support the rest of your company generating revenue, then absolutely they should not be paid. The department should not exist.

If the company you work for is in the business of paying departments that do nothing to help the business, have never helped the business, and have no chance of ever helping the business then I doubt your company will be in business much longer.

actually we just got bought out and the previous owner kept that side/without much objection. It was his whole reason for being in the business......one of the richest men in the state, good buds with Turner and Blank--he could make a business decision of that nature since it was what he enjoys....ya know?

which leads me into the next point---the ncaa although they may make a uber amount of money--thats not their goal....they are just as committed to womens dive as mens football.....you know
???? (or at least their supposed to be)

Why did it exist in the first place if it never made money, or was never intended to make money? I highly doubt a department existed in your company that was never intended to help the business in any way and was essentially charity. Unless you work for United Way or something.

I'm not a biznass major and you're probably a lot smarter than me....all I can say is I feel bad for some of these kids and I dont think 2k would be too much to ask......

will they have to pay taxes on it?

I would buy this and be completely fine with not paying football players money if they weren't paying football coaches millions of dollars a year.

it was highly profitable and was the money maker when the company started in the 80's........it was the passion of the owner though and he kept it going in its rough years

before he sold the place we were probably one of the biggest companies that felt like it was truly family run.....now we are mice on a wheel.....

as stated before I think it should be handled as a need basis. 2k max? NCAA/School splits the bill.
