ACC Championship game a sellout

I actually had a decent time in Jax (stayed at Fernandina Beach) until about the time the game was over.
 
I remember buying a student ticket for $25 for 2009's game. I hope that's the case again, because combining that cost with the price of the round-trip ticket I have to Charlotte for $4.50, that will be quite possibly the cheapest trip ever
 
I had a great time in Tampa. Tampa cant help it that it rained Friday night and was 20 degrees below average temp on Saturday. There's definately a good party scene in Tampa plus a Casino and beaches. I think the only advantage Charlotte has is location relative to conference footprint.

If we make it to Charlotte...it will be 31 degrees at kickoff in Charlotte and 67 degrees at the same time in Tampa. Everyone will bitch.

I got 2 in the club section for $50 on the street last season. They were so cheap, I thought they had to be fake. Awesome venue. I had a good time trying to get both teams to self destruct.

PATHETICALLY, VT came on to "Enter Sandman" and FSU came on to "For Whom The Bell Tolls" (the latter is the better of the two songs)

Tampa would have been a lot better if the stadium wasn't half empty. The city itself wasn't bad, though I still think Charlotte will be better.

Only in Jax for 3 years total (then 2 in Tampa).

All this FSU talk is kinda crap. FSU-VT did just as well in Charlotte as it did in Jax. People go to big local games. I went to UNC-LSU last year and would have gone to see uga this year if I was in town (go boise!). I'd grab tickets to any SEC matchup that was worth it too if they weren't so expensive from scalpers. Florida State would sell no matter where the game is played - doesn't really matter if the tickets are bought by FSU fans or locals who want to see the game.

Miami hardly averages 50k in its home stadium - why would it have done better in a stadium that's 5 hours away?

Those are really the only two reasons to have the game in Florida (not to mention that it's probably easier and quicker to get from Miami to Charlotte by Airplane than it is to get from Miami to Jacksonville or Tampa by any means of transportation).

It's gonna do tremendous in Charlotte because of the combination of local interest and the huge fanbases that are within a stones throw. I'd even guess that GT could bring 20-25k fans to Charlotte.
 
except it does matter if they are bought by locals....these games want as many people in from out of town as possible...it's a tourism booooooost.....

do you think the city of Charlotte wants the game so Charlotte residents can go catch a game?? they want you to fly in-stay in a hotel-eat at their restaurants..and maybe buy a Charlotte NC t shirt.

they are in luck, most of the sales is probably Clemson fans
 
It was a good crowd last year for the FSU VT game.

It was a good time. I took the FSU bus up. Never again ever will I ever ride on a bus for more than about an hour ever.

Looking back, I was hoping FSU wld beat the ever loving hell out of VT, dammit.
 
Good news obviously, Charlotte was the right choice from day 1 as any normal person could tell you.

yeah I know....that is going to be a home game for them....but they deserve it--they went 8-0 and pretty much locked it up really early.

If we win tonight... VT fans will be dumping their tickets like a rock. GT crowd will buy some of them up.

We will bring more then 10K easily regardless. If we beat UGA, that number will skyrocket.
