potential recruits for 2007 class

I'm sure Gailey realizes Calvin is a sure top 10 pick in the draft and is likely to leave. He'll surely prepare accordingly.

The receivers are probably the deepest and most talented position on our squad. We have Earls and Ba Ba coming in next year and Haynes should be in next year's class.

Greg Smith and Frierson each have four years left and James Johnson has three years left.

There are definitely players we can put on the field and expect results from, but we dont(as far as I know) have a bigtime playmaker that can stretch the field for us(Understanding that Calvin is a rarity). Maybe The 2 receivers coming in this year and Haynes with his size and speed combination can be that for us, but as of now I think we still need to try and add one more weapon on the outside.

that would be great! Any NEW MOVEMENT on recruits? Has been quite past couple of days....Was reviewing some of the other team and Miss State has 8 verbals @ this point....pretty impressive I suppose w/ Croom's 2nd year there.

Teams that are able to sign a full slate of scholarships, plus do not have to review transcripts because NCAA qualification is good enough for them, can move faster than we can.
There are a few kids in Georgia that would accept on the spot if we offered.
Of course, if you are an annual top 3 program like Texas or SoCal, that gives you the trifecta and a lot of verbals early.
If we were to get Josh Nesbitt to commit early then it could set off a few others.
Finding out how many scholarships we can give when the NCAA appeal is decided in early June will also determine our aggressiveness, as well as our camps in June/July.

Hivered is right on the money. We should hear the results of the appeal around the 1st and that will make the picture clearer as to how many we have and who we can then take.

panther...I think you would agree that there are two kids (one TE and one DE/LB) in Georgia that would have an offer and would be a commitment right now if we had 25 to give.

ANY NEW MOVEMENT ON THESE PLAYERS? I AM READY FOR SOME MORE GOOD NEWS....I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEASON TO START!

(COPIED FROM ABOVE HIVEREDTECH)

Searcy - offered

Duran & Lumpkin - not offered

King - seems to be Auburn lean

Jones - should make decision soon. I feel good about how we stand with him.

Everson - strong lean. We should know more after his west coast trip.

I have 38 players being offered on my list. Hivewred might be able to confirm that with his list.

The Searcy "offer" may not be solid yet, but would not doubt if it is before long. He does say he got one in one interview.

Others have come on recently like CB Jamire Williams and WR Brandon Gibson.

I am showing 48 offers to kids that have not committed anywhere...probably another 10-15 who have committed but we never really got in on.

There are several in state that would jump if we offered and we definitely would have already offered if we had more than 20 to give. However, further evaluation at our camp could lead to an immediate offer, it does not mean they are 'b' list or anything like that.

Any idea if Nick Claytor is any closer to pulling the trigger & signing w. us? What about some of those others who have "high interest" in GT.
Just curious!

In my opinion you just never know with someone like him.

If he had to choose today it would be GT, but he does not have to and every day he does not that is not a good thing when you are in the lead.

I know that he is an A+ list recruit for GT, we want him badly.

He is extremely comfortable with Tech. We just have to hope he wakes up one day and just gets completely sick of the phone calls and the entire recruiting process, then calls Gailey with a commitment so it will all end. He is an intelligent, thougtful kid, so it is possible at any time I would think.

Well I hope that Chan has the opportunity to feild such a call from him one day soon....Although if we don't land him...maybe we will pick up one of our other OL that we're offerring:Stefen Wisniewski, Chris Little,James Wilson, Ryan Pugh.
Not wishing that on us but at least there are other possibilities out there..... If you had to pick 3 which ones would u pick? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/duel.gif

Just imagine the HYPE that would be taken to an all new LEVEL if JONES & EVERSON gave their verbal to us soon...(Prior to Neutred Dame Game...)Would give the scouts all kinds of positive pub about our recruiting class & direction of GT FOOTBALL!!! (not to mention if Josh Nesb...would do the same) OH MAN THE POSSIBILITIES!! Can't wait for COLLEGE FOOTBALL TO ST /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rockon.gifART!~

We will not take more than 3 total I would think.

Top three would be Claytor, Little, and Gilbert. We do have offers to the ones you mentioned plus Mason Cloy, and I think Chance Raines, out there.

Hivered is correct about not taking more than three and the three he mentioned are the top three.

I don't believe that Pugh has an offer and Wisnewski most likely will not be leaving Pa.
