Next season's QB

We're gonna midline the öööö out of everyone
If it does turn out that Jordan is calling the signals next year, then I'm very excited about this. He gives as good as he gets up the middle. Obviously we haven't seen him without the leash, so we don't know how good his pitch game is or his reads. Justin's reads could be really, really frustrating at times and some of his decisions on pitch timing were playing with fire. Admittedly, I haven't seen anything from the other quarterbacks we have on the roster but unless there's a serious problem we don't know about with MJ I have to assume he's the most likely candidate for who will be starting against Tennessee.

I 'member' watching the VPISU game and being worried and MJ's lack of pitches. It was nothing but QB follow after QB follow. Granted, it was working, but about the 3rd or early 4th he pitched it for the first time I'd seen him all game and it was piss poor. If I'm not mistaken it was a fumble or almost a fumble.

I would assume that CPJ knows this about MJ and adjusted the game call to fit his skill set. I say all this to say- I'm not sold on MJ. Seeing how dynamic our offense can be with a passer, I'm rooting HARD for LJ.

He had the one pitch to the sideline I believe, with no Tech player in the area. But JT5 did the same thing the next week so...

This is exactly how I feel. We've seen what our offense looks like without a credible passing threat. Great sometimes, but then awful when we aren't getting a push up front.

Wow..hadn't seen the Jones film..that guy can fly..outran several defenders with clear angles on his. You can't teach that. Throwing motion pretty decent as well.

Against VT IIRC Johnson said he told MJ to get downhill. We had the lead, VT wasnt doing crap on O, so why risk tossing it around if you can move the sticks with less risk and burn up clock.

Not sure but i believe it was the radio show or post game pressor where this was discussed. Someone asked about calling his own number too much.

Or, I am imagining things again:dunno:

I prefer a competent QB with a good OL to a play-making QB with a bad OL. MJ is going to be good enough if the OL can deliver next year.

Matt Jordan will be our starter against Tenn in the Chick fil A kickoff, unless he gets injured. IF he playes well CPJ will ride him for 2 years... If there are issues then it become interesting...

MJ needs to learn how to safely handle a snap under center or else this is going to be a real quick decision. He was REALLY struggling with snaps against VT, and I saw him bobble at least one more against UVA (I believe).

Say what you want..Tevin W was a very good QB for us..not a star, but very smart and didn't lose any games by himself. His passing was also very underrated. When someone was open, he usually put it in there.

No doubt that when our offense is working, there are going to be wide open recievers. The area we are really gonna miss JT, though, is 3rd (even 4th) and long. It got to the point where I was surprised when we didn't pick one up. Under CPJ's previous QB's, those were hopeless.

The good news is that CPJ will have 5 QBs with various skills and at least 1 year of college to choose from. The better news is that pretty much most of the offense will be the same.

Amazingly, CPJ has had, unless injury dictated otherwise, three starters in the nine seasons he has coached here - Nesbitt, Washington, Thomas. We have started Booker and Jordan because of injuries. Don't recall if Byerly ever got a start

I think Jaybo started our home game vs miss st. Due to JfN ankle maybe?
