***Disclaimer - not pretending to be a QB guru***
I haven't heard anything about Jay Jones, really ever. Looks like he was a late addition to the class last year - committed two weeks before signing day. Highly rated athlete with offers from Bama/Auburn/Florida. Listed at 6'0" 175 on our roster.
Honestly that film is more impressive to me than any of the other QBs on our roster next year. Reminds me of JT5's film with maybe slightly less top end speed and slightly more of an athlete look (where as JT5 looked like a QB who happened to also be the best athlete on the field). Great quickness and looks elusive like JT. Not a polished passer, but can sling it pretty well. Also looks comfortable throwing on roll outs which is good for us. Overall just looks like an option QB.
I'm worried that Lucas Johnson may be more similar to Vad than we want. Polished passer and great size / top end speed. But lacking in the burst/elusiveness department. To my admittedly untrained eye, that's where Vad failed. He was a little slow/clumsy in tight spaces and couldn't use his speed until he was in the open field. But we need some quickness back there to orchestrate the offense properly.
Jordan we've seen. Hopefully he'll sure up the passing and become more comfortable making reads so we don't have to shrink the playbook. I expect him to start against Tennessee like most others.
Marshall I haven't seen much either. But I assume he'll be the backup having two years in the system already.
