CFP rankings are trash

Yeah I just saw the updated CFP rankings -there has to be an underlying SEC-biased something going on here, unless it’s the old adage, if you’re going to lose, lose early.

Doesn't really matter with regards to Ugag. They will either win out and earn their way in to the CFP or they will end up in Tampa.

To me, since about 5 weeks in, it's been pretty clear who the real four most talented teams are this year: LSU, Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State hard stop. The likely best playoff games would involve them, regardless of conference alignment. That said...

If Baylor, LSU, Clemson , Minnesota, and Alabama all win out, Alabama will be left out. And that would be the right call. They had their shot. Sometimes the schedule isn't fair. A bunch a people claim SEC bias, but no Committee will actually have the stones to leave out an undefeated P5 Champion, until we actually get a year with all 5 or 4+ND being undefeated and someone has to go. Something something my own piss something something. And if for some reason it does happen I promise this, it'll be the end of the 4 game playoff as we know it and they will take it to 8 ASAP, because no p5 conference is going to stand to have their 13-0 champ not get a spot at the table...

They may leave out a 1-loss conference champ for Bama or a similar team, but it will not happen to an undefeated p5 champ.

The playoff rankings with a 1/4 of the season left are what the are. A TV show.

UGA at #4 after losing at home to South Carolina, and beating no one of merit is garbage. Ohio State or Bama would rip them a new one.

 I ööööing warned them.

This is the problem with the releasing early rankings. They treat the rankings like a ladder. Lose and you get knocked down X spots. Instead of evaluating each team's whole seasons comparatively, as it should be.

Or maybe this just fits the cynical boost-TV-ratings theory of these rankings. Suddenly UGA-Auburn is a bigger game, it has playoffs implications for Bama.

It’s idiotic to assume this is not the case.
