1990 GT vs. Nebraska on ESPN Classic Now.

Did we win? Did the goalpost come down? That day is kind of hazy.

For some of us that went, would it not wig you out to see yourself 18 years younger on TV? I still vividly remember going to that game. It was like 95 degrees that day in Orlando.

I lived in Kansas City then on a cul-de-sac with over 50% Nebraska fans. Prior to the game, not a single one of them thought that Tech had a chance, and every one I talked to said Nebraska should have been in a better bowl against a more worthy opponent. The good news is that I had 6 of them bet me even up.

Man it was hot that day and oh how I wished that I had packed a pair of shorts for the Citrus Bowl trip. I wore these thick pants that had a couple of pockets on each leg --holding my radio, mini-casio tv, etc. I think I had on a sweater too, instead of the yellow Citrus Bowl shirt that came with the ticket package. Didn't mind any of it at the end of the day though!

I was 8 years old so I was too young to remember, but I do remember the end of the UGA game.

I wasn't there... but my roomate was. He was one of the many fans the stormed the field afterwards, and ended up prominent in one of the newspaper front page photos. He had it framed together with a swatch of goal post paint and some springs of endzone grass. Sweet momento for him. The lucky bastard!

One of the greatest GT victories these "old eyes" has
ever seen, plus the biggest contingent of Georgia Tech fans I have ever seen in my life time other than
the ritual of going to Grant Field every Saturday during the reign of Bobby Dodd!

Last year I spotted myself in a replay of a GT-Clemson basketall game from 1987.

But I don't think the upper deck of the Citrus Bowl got any air time on 1/1/91

I was there--hopped a short ride on the wreck on field after the game--took home a piece of turf--we drove straight thru listening to the radio for finall poll--went to the VARSITY and bought hot off the press NATIONAL CHAMPS tee shirts!! It doesn't get any better than THIS!!

I was on a co-op assignment in Detroit - had to start work on the 2nd, so I was already in my rented room in the Motor City watching the game on a 13" TV. At least it was color. Meanwhile, my girlfriend (now wife) was in the Citrus Bowl soaking up the sun and enjoying the final win in the MNC season. Yeah, I'm still bitter about it!!

Like surferdave, I recently saw a basketball replay (UNC maybe?) from the Tit in '89 - and saw my smiling face on the front row. Weird sensation seeing an almost 20 year younger me on the TV. I was in the airport in Boston when I saw it, and pretty much freaked out the guy sitting next to me, too. Very random.

I also saw a replay of the first Bobby Cremins Day game - I lived in Folk and actually did the Bobby thing - white shirt, yellow tie, navy jacket - for the game. Pretty funny seeing pictures from that, too. I sprayed my hair gray for that game. I don't have to spray it to get that same color these days!!

GO JACKETS!!

I was at the game. I Tivo'ed this the other day and it is honestly the first time I ever watched it on TV. Didn't realize we had annoying Musberger as our announcer. That said, he praised us and defended the ACC. Other than not being able to cover the TE, we killed them. Again!
