Our team has played horribly in the 1st quarter this year.

Excluding Samford, we have been outscored 23-45 in the 1st Quarter and then we have outscored the opposition 82-41 in the remaining 3 quarters.

Or take out Notre Dame and just look at the conference games and it's 17-45 in the 1st and 55-38 thereafter.

If I were our coach I would be trying to understand how we come out so unprepared mentally, flat, or whatever and get clobbered at the start.

“If I knew what was going on, I’d do something about it,” said Tech coach Chan Gailey.

Well I guess you can't say the staff doesn't make agjustments. Or...maybe you can.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't both UVa and MD noon start times? If so, it appears the team doesn't start playing until 1:00pm.

Since UM is a noon start, I say coach should mess with their clocks and move bedcheck ahead 1 hour and wake them 1 hour earlier.

Good theory except for BC.

It's pretty frustrating. The theme offseason was playing "all four quarters" and whatnot, but what appears to have happened is that we've just shuffled which quarter we don't play well in. :)

At least you can't dog on the coaches for not making adjustments.

Well I'm glad to see someone still has a sense of humor around here.

bj, you're right about BC. But, against UVa and MD, we lost to inferior teams.

I don't consider Maryland to be an inferior team. Maryland and Tech were about equal in talent and outcome last year, and both last year's game and this one went to the wire.

I think that is a sad commentary in itself about our program, when we start considering ourselves equal to Maryland, IMHO.

Maryland is not equally talented, but they do have better coaching.

Gailey = Extra Loss or 2

Fridge = Extra Win or 3
