2 thumbs up to GT all staters!

It is a valid gripe, but the change in stars was also valid. Our defense, like our offense, is not built or run to showcase the talents of the athletes we recruit. If Stephon Tuitt were to be signed in this year's class, his 5 star would immediately become 4 or less, because it would be common knowledge in the "recruiting industry" that he would not be utilized like he would be in a Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Clemson system. Even in our successful years, we don't play big time football, because a Tuitt would be flanked by lesser players.
This is wrong. Recruiting rankings do not claim to evaluate how much potential your teammates have.

Really impressed with last year's class, and even more impressed with 2018 class. We keep this up look out. Now bring in Woody and let him lay the wood.

Here's my point, & I reckon it's for the Yellow Jacket faithful, GT signed a much better class than #51 ranking based on the total 'stars' added up. The example used alerts us to the factoid that a true '2 star' player would not have even been in the top 12 of DBs in the very large school classification much less a top 4 all state selection. He's grouped with all 3-4 star recruits. As pointed out in this thread, Malachi Carter is another outstanding all stater who set the Gwinett County record for receiving and, good grief, how high would he be ranked if he'd have committed to Auburn?
I am stressing that the GT coaches got 'talent' better than this ranking system. I am mentioning that the skill sets of the recruits entering are much higher than Rivals' ranking system wants the much larger schools' fans base to believe. I am pretty positive that Rivals wants the subscribing SEC programs' fans to believe they outrecruited the Jackets.
I do believe Tech got many hosses that could play anywhere and am pointing out our 'wrecks' did not get justice from Rivals.
