#20 DL Antwan Owens - Godby HS (Tallahassee)

Kicker/Punter are probably the two positions in football that you should pick without worrying about the actual team/program. I suppose it would be tough for me to turn down a team that's on a run like Bama is, but kickers should be picking it purely on school life and academics. If you're good enough for the NFL you're 100% going to get noticed regardless of how good/big the program is.

That being said, maybe that is why he decided to decommit - didn't like what GT had to offer as a school. I just can't imagine letting my kid make a 4 year decision like that rather than the 40 year decision. Which is basically what it is for a kicker.
 
I agree with gtrowers wisdom. If I were a kicker I would be looking at Stanford, Berkeley, Michigan, UVA, GT, Ivy League, etc.

Welcome Antwan!!!! There are good opportunities on the field and huge opportunities after getting out at Tech.

You make a good point but you've got to factor in that kickers want to win National Championships, too.
