I think he will be fine by next fall, but if he needs extra time don't panic because he does not play right away.

We will get good play out of him. Fans are too quick to look at recruiting victories and expect instant gratification. While a few can play as freshmen, RS or true, most take a year or two in program to deserve to be on the field, highly ranked or not.

18 months is actually a fortunate healing time for a knee. 12 months is too short, but that is what everyone tries to do, particularly after Adrian Peterson showed it can be done if you are a freak of nature. It affects your play, and you worry about being re-injured, which actually makes it more likely you will suffer a different injury.

Looks like a solid commit! hope he can replace the 4* we just lost.... just sayin
Lol we didn't "lose" a 4*. Even with a decimated DL, he still wasn't getting playing time. The writing was on the wall. He also was rated 4* as a linebacker and was way too big to play LB. Call it what you want, but scholarship players leaving that aren't getting playing time at a weak position is not a bad thing.

Some people don't realize that a recruiting rating is some guy's - and not even a coach's - wild guess of what someone will become, and not a Madden rating that sticks hard with a player their entire career. I do not think these people can be educated.

So ho hum on this news.

Some people don’t realize that a recruiting rating is a team of guys’ - that host camps, interview coaches, and do this for a living - educated guess of how HS recruits stack up against each other at that time that has been shown to correlate with their careers and draft position. I’m not sure why these people care to be posting in a recruiting thread.

An estimate of talent coming out of high school does not always translate into a successful (or unsuccessful) career at a given school. Some guys hit a ceiling, some don’t fit well within a given scheme, and others simply don’t fit the culture at that school. For whatever reason, we have had two 4*’s enter the portal recently who weren’t seeing much playing time. If they aren’t playing and want to take their talent where they may be a better fit, I think it’s good for them and for GT. Wishing these guys the best.

Id say there’s some concern about how he looks following the knee injury. But if he recovers 100% then his film does look solid.

He's got great vision and urgency. Doesn't look like he relies too much on his raw athleticism. Should be just fine

Ok, I'll say it. Name 1 multi-year starter for us who missed a season in high school due to injury. Dude is worth the risk, just need to get a couple more linebackers. Lord knows we need em.
