Gibbs hype is spreading. 1st Team RB (with two others). Team hype is not spreading. Only other rep is Quez on the 4th team.

There are 11 players on the First Team Defense, but 13 on the First Team Offense? Further evidence of our inflationary times.
 
Pretty pathetic showing on our part. But expected. We'll get there.
 
We didn't have any first teamers on their 2014 preseason list. We also didn't have any players voted first team at the end of the year, even though we were a top 10 team and that was easily the most talented team consisting of CPJ recruits.

I'd be more concerned about overall team production than any individual player.

I care about the perception of the program because it's a big factor in recruits wanting to come here. Duh.

Probably 80%+ of the players on this list are juniors and seniors. Wish they'd have listed that--maybe someone with time on their hands can go through each team's roster.

I doubt many recruits are under the impression that we're a top program right now. We're still selling them on the idea of what we *could be.* Obviously we'll reach a point soon where the on-field results will tell the tale, but I don't think Athlon's preseason projections are going to move the needle very much.
 
I am surprised Swilling and maybe to a less extent Carpenter don't get some notice. AS far as the offense, I get it, I don't think a this point there are guys who should be on the list besides Gibbs, of course. On defense, have some hope some newcomers/young guys on dline and the lber from Maryland will show they can play but given where they are now I understand why they are left off. Carpenter did not play well last year but it is apparent now he was hurt and also doing the best he could given a tough off season. I have hope for him. Swilling is underrated.

We had 6 last year - 3 of which are still on the team.
 
I think we will have four or five on the first or second string ACC teams by the end of the year. We get no respect because the media is accustomed to Paul Johnson’s mediocre at best recruiting. Collins and these new coaches can recruit!
 
Guys, get serious. We have 6 wins in 2 years. We are lucky they put anybody on the preseason list. I mean we all know what's going on but we at least have to prove it a little bit.

We will have our say this fall and everyone will take note on the post-season list and the 2022 preseason list. Chill.
