check this out; this is one of two recruits that could be getting calvin the ball like he deserves, not like he's getting the ball from dog.
check out his size and stats....looks very promising for CJ; this kid could be another philip rivers or better

ok the stupid link won'y work.
just go to jacketsonline.com, click the football recruits tab, and check out steven threet.
6'6, 225, pro style qb. 4.0 gpa. dec graduate.

could be even an eli or a peyton, that size and skill.....that's worth CJ staying for......

If he wants to stay that's great, but anybody that truly cares about him will tell him he should go pro.

I disagree completely. I pulled out of college early - not to go Pro in anything but to work. I'd give anything to get the last few years of college back instead of the online degree I got. It's not about the education - it's about the experience. Calvin will never have another senior year. Even if he comes back later to get his degree, it won't be the same.

He has a $3Million insurance policy. I'm sure that and a GT degree will allow him to live plenty comfortably should the unthinkable happen during his Senior year.

It would be a MONUMENTAL surprise if he stayed.Exactly what would he gain except more frustration with a new QB and a stumbling OFfense and a few more hrs toward a degree.(Like he needs a degree with the $M he will earn in pros).
Those that think he'll stay are thinking with their hearts.

Yeah, but I'm guessing you weren't looking at a multi million dollar signing bonus.

If Calvin was merely a first rounder, I might see him staying. He might end up being the concensus overall #1 pick.

I'm not saying he won't go. He most likely will, but my estimate is closer to 60/40 than most people's 90/10.

And I'm not talking about his earning a degree as the reason to stay. I'm talking about him taking one more year to be a "kid" and enjoying one more year of college-life.

If he is to really "enjoy" college life at Tech, the school will need to offer a one year program in Ballroom Dance like M Leinart took his final year.

If he stays, it's going to be due to love of the school, for comaradarie, for a chance to permanently set every single receiving record in Tech (posisbly NCAA) history, for a Heisman shot, and to beat UGA.

Pretty good reasons, IMO, but he better have a beefcake insurance policy.

I have often wondered what CJ's stats would be like with Joe or Goose as QB.

Depends. With our current receivers, or with theirs? Lets not forget Joe was throwing at the best 4-deep WR squad in the history of Tech football, by far and away. Kelley Campbell, Dez White, Glover and Watkins. Those guys didn't drop too many balls, and we spread the ball around a lot more with those guys too. CJ's numbers might not have been any better.
