No one is talking about this, but I have to think that scoring 218 points without stopping to kick a field goal has to be some kind of record going back to Cumberland.

The 134 points this year. 19 TD's, a safety, a missed extra point*.

Add the 49 in the Orange Bowl (no FG attempts).

Add the 35 in the ACCCG (no FG attempts).

...and the last attempted Field Goal sent the Georgia game into overtime.

We are not far from the 1 year anniversary of our last field goal attempt.

PKs need work, too. Here's hoping his first game attempt isn't one with the game on the line. {Too bad college hasn't adopted the NFL rule yet}

This will happen when you field one of the most efficient offenses in CFB history, as we did last year. Not stopping to kick against Alcorn and Tulane is as much a matter of luck as it is skill, since you never know how your 4th and 5th string guys are going to do.

That is impressive - nice find OP. Came real close to blowing that streak on the first drive against Tulane with that bizarre play call of a pass on 1st and goal at the 5 where the backside OLB had a free run at JT5 for a sack (scary play). Luckily Searcy bailed us out on 3rd and goal from the 15 with a nifty run after pitch.

On a side note, Searcy has already showed a few times that he's extremely elusive in tight spaces. Reminds me of the way Orwin could always find a way to pick through defenders even when they were in good position.

We are also 100% on our trips into the reds one this year, all TDs. That is what is impressive to me

Good find OP. Would be curious to know if this is rare and distinguished or not.

Interesting......

4 teams haven't attempted a field goal so far this year: GT, LSU (one game), UMASS (one game), and Rice. Obviously none of those teams are close to 224 points since their last attempt, but Rice appears to be closest with 111 points (first score of their bowl game last year was a FG, scored 27 more + 84 this season).

Other things I learned: Alabama is 0/4 on FG this season (44, 39, 49, and 24). Guess that Gameday story jinxed the kid.

VT is 1/4.

I blame this dumb öööö thread for everything!!!!! :furious:
