They’re guessing who is gonna win COTY, not who is the best coach. You can usually eliminate the coaches who had good seasons the year before. They’d have to do something pretty special to win an award that is usually synonymous with the team that’s “most improved.”

With that in mind Mendenhall is literally the first name I’d cross off my list. CGC would honestly be a good dark horse pick. If we somehow got to 7 or 8 wins he’d be a popular vote. Diaz, Fuente, and Brown all have decent shots as potential Coastal winners. Norvell a decent shot as well with a talented roster in place and subpar season for the program last year.
