3 ACC Players of the Week!

And as noted in another thread, Coach Key was named Coach of the Week by several entities.
Which thread? I can't find it and search doesn't work for "Coach of the Week"

I see where you're coming from but reality is one did sign with him as a PWO then earned a scholarship, and the other 2 were in college before he was here, and one of those was recruited here by him as a transfer, so that's misleading at best.

Nothing misleading about it at all. We have a whole bunch of guys who signed full scholarships with Geoff out of high school, and not one of them were named ACC player of week. That is not what I would suspect for a guy who was touted for his recruiting ability.

 I like watching posters defend and promote anything associated with CGC, even the players that spurned him; as if CGC still gets credit for them somehow.
Just using your logic to make the point that your post was stupid. What I would really like is I'd no one ever mentioned the guy ever again, but people were still comparing CPJ to CCG in 2018 so I don't hold out much hope.

Well your Gibbs post still doesn't put anyone that CGC recruited out of high school on the ACC Player of week for us. You do realize that he signed more players than Jahmyr right? The next guy is going to need some time to build the roster that CGC left.

CCG Vs CGC still gets me lol. Almost commented something completely different

Individual accolades come on the heels of team achievement. Good on these men, and good on the team.

So the guys he signed should be winning ACC player of week over guys that are older upperclassmen that were in college before he was able to recruit them to GT... got it. Your comparison is stupid. Folks you claim go out of their way to defend Collins are not that... the fact is you are the one going out of your way to try to dunk on him. Sure it's evident he sucked as a coach, but even you can't be dumb enough to not think he was a good recruiter (although you're surely trying to prove me wrong here too). If we were winning, those players would still be with us. So you're taking your "he can't recruit" argument and moving the goalposts to "I meant he can't recruit based on the kids that are still here but aren't winning ACC player of week." It's stupid.

What was the refrain of the GC defenders? How many times did we hear that the cupboard was bare? If it was bare and Geoff could recruit, the old guard wouldn't be starting.

So, 1 of those guys is from the "old guard." We have 1/11 starters on offense from the "old guard" and 3/11 on defense. If the cupboard wasn't bare, we should have plenty of upperclassmen that were here then starting now.

We had several graduate last year and we've had a lot of transfers. It's not terribly surprising that there aren't more starting now.
