I guess we know what Jimbo meant when he said GT didn't have enough resources now huh?

On top of that remember the episode we had where hundreds of IT students were suspected of colluding on their programming assignments...

This FSU thing appears to go beyond just the student athletes...I am getting the impression that the student athletes were only part of a wider issue that involved regular students. That wouldn't make it much different than our IT scandal some years ago.

What? There's a big difference between satisfying academic progress rules and flat out cheating in the classroom. Of course, FSU will have a lighter penalty for some strange reason.
 
Well, we still don't know the details as far as I can tell, but institutionally not knowing whether players are eligible IS a bigger deal than simple cheating by players. They are being punished and whether it impacts their long term eligibility is another question. But there is no NCAA violation in players getting caught cheating as far as I know, especially since FSU caught them. If there is some institutional intent to help them cheat that's a different story.
