5-1 BEECHES after a trip to Doak Campbell

Amen! I think we all would have taken 5-1 at the midway point. Some highs, some lows, but we still have a chance to accomplish every big goal on the table.

I expected 5-1 through the first 6, but I thought the loss would be to FSU rather than Miami.

I'd rather have it this way :-D

Honestly, with how things have played out this year, losses to VPI and Miami but a 10 win season is plenty to be proud of. At worst I think we lose 2 more games, including the bowl. At worst.

Wish the top two Coastal teams could play for the title. There could be three 10 win teams on this side. Meanwhile, the Atlantic teams are a combined 6-11 in ACC play and 17-17 overall. Pathetic.

If there is a three way tie then we would go instead of Miami and VT because we have the win over VT...

Only if we are higher in the BCS rankings. If Miami is higher than us after we beat VA Tech, they go. Here is to hoping that we win out and that Miami lays an egg.

HD: But they lost to Virginia Tech. Guys, it's October. Please, I beg of you, let's wait until we need the three-way tiebreaker until we must speak of it again.

So going by this it sounds like GT would go right?

Firstly, I think Casey was misunderstood about what a VT loss to GT means for UM's chances of playing in the ACCCG. This is has been discussed many times before and will undoubtedly be rehashed yet again when we beat VT but the bottom line is we'll get the shaft in just about any 3 way tie. It will probably fall to BCS rank. If the resulting two teams from the BCS rank tie break are ranked within 5 spots of each other, the head-to-head record of those two teams will be the tie-breaker. Ergo, we'd have to be ranked higher than UM at the end of the season and within 5 spots or better than VT to represent the Coastal. Unless the pollsters give us some love for beating a #4 VT team (doubtful) then I don't like our chances for any of these things to play out. Our best hope is to beat VT and hope UM loses one more ACC game. The only team left on their schedule that has a snowball's chance in hell is Clemson.

EDIT: So regarding HD's post, she was merely pointing out that A beat B beat C beat A.

There are 14 other threads on this... If VT, GT, and UM all have one loss in the conference (which means GT/UM win out in conference and VT loses only to us), then it goes to BCS ranking... So, unless UM were to lose to USF in this scenario, they go.

Edit: It doesn't go to BCS ranking... goes to head-to-head if they are within 5 as stated above... Either way, not good if GT and UM both have one loss since they beat us.
